Escape From INSANITY - Justice for All
Current mood:  overstimulated

Allen was no longer a threat in anyway.  He had faced fear in all forms.  He had tried to talk down the deranged psycho for days.  He had stayed strong through so much of it.  But now, he was fading.  His left hand had been mangled, days ago, it was starting to heal on it's own all twisted and deformed.  It had never even been iced after the sledge hammer had pounded it twice!  He had been through mental torment from the start.  Scarlett had made him believe so many lies!  And once she started to drug him his mind couldn't find the holes in her stories.  What was really taking him down though was the tattoo she had put on his leg.  It was infected and that infection was giving him a fever, and was spreading through him like wildfire.  He would not last much longer. Scarlett was oblivious to just how sick Allen was.  She couldn't see it, and even if she could she wouldn't get him real help in the form of a doctor.  She wouldn't sacrifice herself nor would she give up on having her fantasy now that it was in her grasp....  Allen laid on the bed, dizzy, feverish, and unable to truly understand everything happening.  There was one thing he did know.  He had been tricked into Scarlett's game, he had f***ed her for days under the guise of her pretending to be his wife, and he too drugged to see the truth.  She wanted his baby, and it was very likely that she was pregnant...

It took everything in him to remain silent as Scarlett told her version, but he couldn’t help his face changes as he watched her, shaking his head here and there.  Myers, well Nate really, but Allen had no idea, touched the table in front of Allen, a signal for him to watch his reactions.  To keep it subtle at best.  Allen trusted this guy, so he did as he recommended.  “We weren’t fighting..” he whispered to his lawyer, “and obviously I never called Scarlett over.”

Things got worse from there; Scarlett made things up, and told the room she loved him.  He sighed, it was such crap.  And when she told them all, that he wanted a baby he couldn’t hold back.  “What?”

“Watch your client!” the judge told Nate, and eyed Allen.

Allen closed his mouth and tried to stay silent.  At least she didn’t deny hurting him.  He should have known that Scarlett would twist things, and lie!  She didn’t care about the oath she was under, it didn’t matter to her.

It was good when his lawyer got up and started to talk, to question Scarlett.  He was good, Allen liked him.  He had no idea he was Nathan James Chance, Guardian of the world and out to take it over!   Allen relaxed and let the guy do his job.  That was until he rested the case!  “What?”  he only mouthed the word, but he heard Vince right behind him echoing the same.   He turned and looked at Vince and shrugged.

When Myers sat down beside him, Allen grabbed his arm.  “What the hell man?”  he glared at the guy.  The look in his eyes gave him chills, something about him in this moment was different than any moment before it, and then…and Allen would never forget it…Myers winked at him and a smile grew.  Allen felt a fear wash over him as he slowly turned his gaze to the judge wondering what would happen now.

“Like I said, Squeaker…I can’t let him hit you. I will keep coming. Like I told you before…You’ll never be alone.”  Ryleigh moved even closer to him. She couldn't be more grateful to have him around than she was in that moment. Her head was pounding from the drugs in the coffee, the dose was a lot stronger than what Noah had previously given her so it was hitting her in an entirely new way. "Thank you." No amount of 'thank you's would ever be enough. She held on to him tighter in fear that Noah would somehow snap out of being frozen in time and attack both of them. That, of course, wasn't possible but she wasn't in the right frame of mind.

Once they were away from Noah's place and in the safety of Rick's home. she still clung to him, too afraid to let him go. "Just sleep. I will be right here. Nothing can get us...the world is at a standstill. It's just you and me."  Her glassy eyes started at him as she shook her head slowly. "If I fall asleep...I'll miss you." She didn't even realize that she told him that she loved him but she meant it. If she wasn't as high as she was, she'd most likely be trying to backtrack by now.

"I know you feel weird..." He touched her cheek and her eyes fell shut. "Ryleigh, I'm not supposed to tell you things, I am not supposed to change the paths of others…but…I love you, Squeaker and I can’t watch this…I feel like I’m lying to you. Noah is drugging you…and he will keep drugging you, by any means necessary.”  Her eyes shot open and she sat up. "...What?" That explained why she always felt so different whenever Noah would give her a drink. She didn't even remember asking him about it earlier, after he gave her coffee. She suspected it then but he never answered her. Her heart was pounding against her chest so hard she was sure it was going to burst right through her chest. Rick told her that he hadn't been doing it long and her baby was safe. "He's trying to kill her...Nate's protecting her...but I have to suffer through everything."

“My top priority is making sure you aren’t hit anymore. When I take you back, we'll make sure you're just a little bit to the left, and he'll hit his stone wall." The corners of her lips perked up slightly at the thought of Noah hitting the wall. "I hope he shatters his hand.." Her eyes started to tear up again and she moved to lay back down beside him. "I can't thank you enough for what you're doing for me." her words were slightly slurred. "I know I said it a million times before...but....I mean it. Thank you." she paused for a moment and leaned in to kiss him. "What about your....ripples?"

When she told him that she didn't want to go back, she tightened her hold on him. She didn't even want to think about going back to that monster. "I don't want to take you! Fuck it...let's stay right here, time stopped..we'll live like this, years and years frozen in time."  Her eyes lit up. She didn't realize that he was kidding. "Can we, please? I don't want to go back...to anything." Noah. The fights with Allen. Everything was taking it's toll on her and only spiraling out of control.

“You know you will eventually have to go back.  If you aren’t there when time starts that would be bad…I will never be far from you…it will get better.  I’m going to help from now on."  She let out a sigh at his words and her teary eyes locked on his. "You're my angel." Reaching up, the back of her hand lightly brushed against his cheek. "You're my guardian angel..."

"Look, I'm sure that baby is his....Allen is stressed out right now, but when things settle down he will see the truth."  Layla thought it was cute how Vince was defending his brother. It seemed that he didn't know the man as well as he thought he did. Layla was bringing out an entirely different side of him. "I'm not so sure about that." she muttered and relaxed back against her seat. She was on the verge of telling him about the trip to the beach. A little getaway to help him relax before the trial started....all while the detective left his pregnant wife home alone, but everything was starting now.

She watched in horror was the video Scarlett recorded was played. Despite everything Layla had done in the past and everything she planned to do to Allen, this actually made her feel sorry for him. She knew the story, she knew what Scarlett had done to him, but actually seeing it made such an impact on her. It was heartbreaking and only made her hate Scarlett even more.

Her bright blue eyes followed Allen as he walked over to the stand. While he was being questioned, she looked back and forth between him and Scarlett. The other blonde was glaring at her. It was clear that she didn't want her there....which only made Layla want to be there even more. She wanted to rub her relationship with Allen right into her face, because there was absolutely nothing she could do about it! Allen kept looking over at Layla and she held his gaze as she mouthed, "You'e doing just fine." every time. Layla wanted him to feel as comfortable as possible around her. She wanted to be the one person she needed more than anyone else. And, now, with his wife not showing up, it really seemed like she was that person! Ryleigh not being here was going to change everything!

Once the questioning was over, Allen mouthed a thank you to her, and the corners of her lips perked up. She blew him a kiss before mouthing back, "Don't thank me!" It was something she always said.

Scarlett's eyes were locked on the screen as the video played in front of the court. She had no shame in them showing what she had done to Allen. If anything, it was turning her on. Her head turned to the jurors, the looks on their faces were enough to tell her that this wasn't going to end well for her. They all seemed to sympathize with Allen already. Of course they did! Everyone respected a member of the NYPD. Rolling her eyes, she shook her head and turned back to the video.

"I would like to call Detective Allen Walker to the stand, Your Honor.

Scarlett sat up and watched Allen as he got up and walked over to take a seat on the stand. Flashes of the nights she had him locked up began to replay in her head. She missed him. She missed using that body of his for her own enjoyment. Her eyes narrowed at him when she thought of him betraying her. How could he turn her in? After everything they'd been through....yeah, she still didn't understand the severity of the crimes she committed.

This was going to be rough on her. She honestly didn't care how Allen was feeling right now. All she ever cared about was her own well being. When the questions started, she shifted in her seat and her eyes darted over to Layla. She still couldn't believe she actually had the balls to show up in court with the man she asked him to watch over. Judging by the way the woman was looking at Allen, Scarlett could tell there was a lot more going on than physical therapy. Scarlett had so many questions. Why the fuck was she there and where was his wife? The wife that he was so desperately fighting to get back to. It seemed odd that she wouldn't show up.

“Mr. Walker, how did you meet the defendant?”

“In a bar... I was having a drink one night.  Turned into a couple after I meet her.”

“So you hit it off?"

“She seemed nice, I was drunk, we had some laughs.  It was a typical run in at a bar.”

“Did it go further?”

“One kiss and then I called it a night and went home.  I never thought I would see her again.”

For the first time since this shitfest started, Scarlett was actually paying attention. Allen was telling the truth but her mind had twisted it around into nothing but lies. The way he said that he never thought he'd see her again was such bullshit! After that kiss, she had convinced herself that they were in love and they'd eventually get together.

“….and all of this she did to you, she drugged you, she raped you, she tied you up, broke you hand, cut off your wedding tattoo…all of this what was her motivation?”

“She wanted my baby, well... me… and a baby.”

Scarlett couldn't hide the smirk as she watched Allen start to squirm. He looked so uncomfortable. If anything, it was all worth it just for that moment alone. He was still the broken man she turned him into.

"No more questions, your honor. Your witness." Oh great, now it was her turn!

Mrs. Campbell motioned for Scarlett to get up. The blonde let out a long drawn out sigh and pulled herself up off the chair. Making her way over to the stand, she was sworn in and took a seat.

Her attorney took a deep breath before asking her first question. "Miss. Brennan, take us back to the night of September 14th when you met Mr. Walker. You two hit it off pretty fast, didn't you?"

Scarlett's lips twisted up into a sinister grin. "We did. I just got off work and needed a couple of drinks. I usually unwind at the bar before going home. Allen was there...he came right over to me and started flirting." That was a lie. She was the one who spotted him first. "Told me he wanted to buy me a drink then invited me back to his place."

"Did you go back home with him?"

She shook her head. "Of course not. I'm not that type of a girl. I don't do one night stands." her eyes darted over to Allen and narrowed.

"Did you see him again after that night?"

Biting down on her lower lip, she shifted slightly and nodded. "Yes. He arrested me a couple weeks later."

"Why were you arrested?"

There was a pause before her answer. "Well....I went into his house to wait for him to come home from work. I thought it'd be nice to surprise him."

"How long were you in jail for after that?"

Another pause. "About three months."  She got out in December and in January, after the holidays, she met up with Benji. From there, the two of them hatched a plan to get back at his ex wife and the object of Scarlett's affection. She wasn't going to mention Benji though. That man had a lot of other dirt on her. If he was brought into it, he'd only make the entire situation worse for her.

"April 8th. Where were you?"

"....Allen invited me over to his home. He was fighting with his wife and I guess he wanted some company."

"Was that the first time you had heard from him since you were released from jail?"

She shook her head. It wasn't. Scarlett had been stalking him since her release, she even showed up at his work and he never once did anything about it...which just showed her how much he wanted her to be around. If he didn't, he could've easily had her arrested again. "No. We hung out a few times." Her version of hanging out was harassing him at work. "He liked having me around."

"Did he ever tell you what the fight with his wife was about?"

"I think he was cheating on her." her lips twisted up. It's funny how all of that was true now!

Mrs. Campbell's eyes darted over to Allen then back to Scarlett. "What happened between the two of you for the week you held him captive in the home you rented, Miss. Brennan?"

Here it goes, the question she was dreading. "Well...I'll admit...I lost control. I should've handled the situation differently. I loved this man." A pause. "I still love this man. He lead me on for months....and in the end, I just couldn't take it anymore. I regret everything I have done. I never meant to hurt him." Yes she did! And she'd do it again if she had the chance, which was why being behind bars was the safest place for both her and Allen.

"Did you do this all so you could have his baby, Miss. Brennan?"

She let out a fake gasp and shook her head. "Of course not! Allen wanted a child though. He lost a couple before...and he told me he would love to have a new baby. He was afraid the stress of his wife cheating on him would cause her to lose his current child....again." She fought off a smile and glanced back at Allen again.

Mrs. Campbell nodded before telling the judge she had no further questions. She knew Scarlett was lying through her teeth. The cross examination was going to be brutal and she wasn't looking forward to that one bit.

Allen was doing his best just to survive this!  Ryleigh wasn’t here!  He was not okay.  He was sad that she abandoned him.  Mad that she had deemed something else more important.  Sick, that he was alone.  But he wasn’t alone.  Layla was here.  She was always there for him lately.  He knew she liked him.  He thought of the night before, she had tried to start something.  She had brought over a pizza and they had fallen asleep on the couch!  Ryleigh didn’t care anymore about him.  But this other woman did.  She wanted him.  So much that she had thrown herself at him.  He had managed to turn her down and still she was here for him!  This woman was a godsend!  And Allen didn’t deserve her.

Allen avoided looking at the video when it was shown, and he tried to not look at Scarlett.  She was getting into trouble with the judge repeatedly, that was only a good thing for him.   The worse she made this on herself the better.

“I would like to call Detective Allen Walker to the stand, Your Honor.”

He heard his lawyer’s voice and he stood up from his seat and he walked toward the witness stand.  The bailiff held out the bible and Allen placed his hand on it.

“Do you solemnly swear that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God under pains and penalties of perjury?”

“I do.”  And just like that he was under oath.  Not normally a big deal to Allen.  He had been in this seat many times as a detective, and he would be many times after this.  But today it felt new.  Today this seat was far more uncomfortable.  Today his eyes moved around the room.  He saw Scarlett looking way too pleased with herself for a woman facing 40 years.  He saw a bunch of strangers, the jury all faces he of course didn’t know.   No Ryleigh.  Allen’s jaw shifted and his eyes blinked rapidly.   He had to remain composed!   His eyes settled on Layla.  They locked on her big blue eyes.  He felt himself settle a little bit.

He told his story.  He left nothing out.  The  whole gruesome story, all while looking at Layla.  His optics had a hard time looking away after a while.  He felt like they were alone, just the two of them.  He managed to stay calm and collected.

Then the questions started.

“Mr. Walker, how did you meet the defendant?”

“In a bar... I was having a drink one night.  Turned into a couple after I meet her.”

“So you hit it off?”

“She seemed nice, I was drunk, we had some laughs.  It was a typical run in at a bar.”

“Did it go further?”

“One kiss and then I called it a night and went home.  I never thought I would see her again.”

So far so good.  Allen would look at Myers when he spoke, but his eyes kept returning to Layla, it was the only place he could look and not feel uneasy.  And the more he looked at her, the more he liked her eyes, her smile.  He was finding comfort in her.  The connection he had been planning to have with his wife in this room was now happening with Layla.  As the questioning got harder Allen really needed those eyes.  He dove into them when he had to respond about how exactly a man trained by the NYPD was raped; he connected to Layla when he told the room how hard he fought.   Tears slipped from his eyes when he talked about the blood all over Scarlett and how she had tricked him into believing his wife and child were dead.

“….and all of this she did to you, she drugged you, she raped you, she tied you up, broke you hand, cut off your wedding tattoo…all of this what was her motivation?”

“She wanted my baby, well... me… and a baby.” He was so uncomfortable.  He wanted off the stand!

“She got half of it…didn’t she?” Myers walked over to the stand.  He had been careful not to bring up Ryleigh at all.  He had noticed she wasn’t there, and he was doing his best to breeze by it.  If Scarlett’s attorney didn’t notice, and didn’t mention it, they might be in the clear.  But she would get a chance to question Allen too.

“I would say she got more than half.  She has my child inside her now.  But she took a piece of me I’ll never get back.” And his wife!  But Allen didn’t add that.

“No more questions, your honor...” Myers looked at Campbell, “Your witness.”

Allen took a breath, his eyes went to Layla again, he mouthed the words thank you.  But it was not over yet.

After Allen's layer was finished with his opening statement, Mrs. Campbell walked up to give hers. This case was probably going to be one of the hardest of her entire career. Scarlett was a hundred percent guilty. She was even pregnant with her victim's child! All Campbell could do was try to make the judge and jury try to sympathize with her. As she spoke, she painted Scarlett out to be a scorned lover. A woman who was lead on by a careless man until she completely snapped. Of course none of that would ever justify the abuse Allen sustained. What would work in her favor was the fact that doctors tested Scarlett and diagnosed her with Bipolar disorder. Either way, Scalett would be locked up. But, maybe the diagnoses would at least be enough to have the judge give her a more lenient sentence. The woman wasn't aware that one of the top witnesses wasn't there to testify yet. That would play a huge factor in the outcome of this case!

"Judge..." The lawyer started out before turning to the jury. "Ladies and gentleman...Scarlett Brennan is a woman suffering from Bipolar disorder. She wasn't in the right frame of mind on the nights she held Mr. Walker captive. All she knew was that she loved this man. A man who carelessly toyed with her emotions."

Scarlett leaned back in her chair, listening to the words of her lawyer. Sounded good so far. She honestly didn't care what the woman said, as long as she got out of that fucking courtroom. She hated it. She hated everyone inside of it, especially the blonde in the front row. Her eyes narrowed in the direction of Layla and mouthed the words, "I'll kill you, whore." Her head then turned to Allen and she ran her tongue over her lower lip slowly. "Miss you, baby.." the words were mouthed and followed by a huge grin. She was trying so hard to intimidate Allen and make him as uncomfortable as she could.

The judge cleared his throat, "Miss. Brennan!" He motioned for the two guards to go over to her.

Scarlett let out a soft groan as the guards moved right up beside her chair. So much for trying to have any sort of fun in this hell hole.

Once the opening argument's were finished, Campbell made her way back over to her seat. "Listen to me right now, I'm trying to get you off with as little time as possible, understand me?" Scarlett nodded. "I shouldn't even be here.." she muttered and ran her hand over her tiny little bump. "This is no place for my child."

Now, it was time for all of the evidence to come in to play. The first up, was the shackles Scarlett used to keep her puppy tied to the bed. Empty bottles of Viagra. As soon as that was shown, Scarlett glanced over and winked at Allen. Blown up photos of Allen's injuries, big enough to show the detail to the jury. His shattered hand was on full display. None of this seemed to phase Scarlett one bit. It looked as if she was enjoying it, it was all a trip down memory lane for her.

"Ryleigh? No fucking way." He seemed to be confidant in the fact that his brother's wife wasn't cheating on Allen. That didn't sit well with Layla. Her eyes narrowed again. "You sure about that? Allen told me a completely different story...about how she's been hooking up with her co-worker and his best friend. The girl sounds like a mess to me." This wasn't the time or the place to talk about something like this but Layla didn't care. "She wasn't even there after the poor guy's surgery." Layla leaned in closer to whisper again, "We don't even think her baby is actually his." We meaning her and Allen, of course. Layla was the one who planted all of those seeds of doubt into Allen's mind. Any time she thought he was thinking of his wife, she always came up with something else to say, to make him doubt her even more.

After Scarlett acted up, Layla went back to her seat and watched as the judge called her over. "Miss. Brennan, if you have one more outburst like you did before I walked in here, I will find you in contempt of court, do you understand me?"  Oh, what a wonderful way to start the day off! Layla had to bite down on he lower lip to keep from smiling. She knew it was going to be hard for Scarlett to behave. The woman couldn't control herself and Layla was expecting more outbursts before the trail was over. It was going to be entertaining to say the very least.

Every now and then, Layla would look over to Allen to make sure he was doing okay. He seemed to be handling things well. She wanted nothing more than to be sitting there beside him. She wanted everyone in that courtroom to think they were together. A couple of people were still walking in. Every time she heard the door swing open, she glanced over her shoulder, expecting to see his wife walk in. A smile appeared each time somebody other than that woman walked in. She really wasn't coming. Surely, she would've been here by now, especially if she had to testify! Layla had a feeling Allen would be done with his wife if she didn't show up and that only made things even better for her.Things were going so perfect between them now. Her feelings for Allen were getting stronger every time they hung out together which meant his wife needed to be completely out of the picture so she could finally have him all to herself.

"Rick?" Hearing his name come from Noah's lips confused her. She didn't even realize she said that she missed him. Before she even had a chance to say anything, Noah yanked her up off the couch. The wind was completely knocked out of her when he slammed her up against the wall. "WHO IS HE?"  Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to take in a breath. She wasn't going to tell him anything about Rick. Noah fist and Ryleigh let out a soft whimper. "Please....don't." She turned away from him slightly and wrapped her arms around her stomach to protect it from the blow. His fist was coming at her fast and she squeezed her eyes shut. That hit never landed.

She felt the soft touch on her arm. "Hey, Squeaker." Her eyes shot open and she was so relieved to see Rick standing there. Noah was completely frozen with his fist a mere inches away from her. She quickly ducked underneath Noah's arm and moved over to Rick, her own arms hugging him as tightly as she possibly could. Her entire body was shaking, partly from the drugs but mostly because of how scared she was."Are you okay?" Her head shook and she tightened her hold on him even more, she was too scared to even let go of him. "No. I can't do this anymore with him.." She had to though."I can't let him hit you. I have an idea for when we have to put you back. BUT, that won't be yet." Her head nodded and she pulled back just enough to look at him. "Thank you for coming.." Rick scooped her up into his arms and she buried her face against his neck. Seconds late, she felt the warm ocean air hit her and she immediately knew where they were. She actually broke down into tears because she was so happy to be away from Noah. "Thank you." she couldn't stop thanking him. Once he laid her down on his bed, he joined her and she instantly snuggled up at his side. "Sleep with me....actual sleep."  Her teary eyes studied his face and she reached up to lightly brush her fingertips against his cheek. She definitely needed the sleep. Hopefully the drugs would wear off by the time she woke up. "Time will stay still for the whole thing. We can sleep in this bed as long as you want." That meant everything to her. Rick was doing all of this for her. "I love you.." She didn't actually mean it in the way it sounded. Her head was too foggy to fully grasp what she just told him. She loved what he was doing for her. The words were followed by a soft kiss to his lips, which probably just made it even worse. Once it was broken, her head dropped back down against the pillow. "I feel so....weird." She asked Noah about her coffee but he never answered. "I don't want to go back..."

So much happened in about 3 minutes!  Scarlett freaked out, Vince was guard-dogging him!  And Layla hugged him and kissed his cheek.  He saw Vince’s face and he didn’t like that look!  That look meant Vince was going to give him a lecture at the very least.   But the judge was walking in; there was no time to think about this anymore.

“Shut your phone off, Mr. Walker.” He nodded to Allen who was looking at the device hoping that Ryleigh would respond to the message he had sent.  He did as he was told and then tucked it away.  He watched as the judge told Scarlett to watch herself.  Allen showed no expression.  He was good at hiding his thoughts and for now he needed to.  ALL of them!

"Are you ready to begin?"  Mr. Myers stood up, “Yes your honor.”  This guy was smooth, he was calm and collected.  He didn’t have notes, he knew what he was going to say and he said it eloquently yet didn’t speak above the jury either.  He explained the crimes that Scarlett was accused of, brushed over everything, told them they would be seeing evidence as well as the hospital reports on Allen’s injuries and near death.  He explained they would hear testimonies from Allen and Vince and Ryleigh.   Allen looked away.  Where was she?   He wasn’t even listening anymore.

His attorney was sitting beside him again he leaned over and whispered.  “Ryleigh is not here.”

Scarlett’s lawyer was getting ready to speak next.

“What do you mean, Walker?”  He glared at Allen.  “…if she doesn’t show I can promise you it will have an effect on the outcome…it won’t look good.  Not to the judge and definitely not to the jury.”

Allen looked back at the doors again.  He could not believe she was failing him this much!  Today of all days!  She picks today to fuck around?  He avoided looking at Vince he knew his brother was upset at him, so his light hues moved to Layla.  He smiled slightly.  He didn’t want to seem too obvious looking at her.  That would be even worse!  To have Ryleigh not show up and have the jury think Layla was the reason!

The opening remarks were done far too soon.  “Evidence…” Myers whispered.  “This will take some time... your wife still has time to show up.”

But not tons!  WHERE was she?  He felt so much more nervous.  Each second she wasn’t there was murdering him!  So far he was holding it all in.  That wouldn’t last forever.  His nerves would start to show sooner or later.   “fuck Ry…I can’t believe you…” he whispered to himself.  All the things he had done for her.  He was always there for her!  Anywhere, anytime.  He always came when she needed him.  He never thought first.  He was just there. She couldn’t even show up to this?

Scarlett was beyond livid at this point. Even with the shackles on now, she wasn't calming down. She tugged at the metal restraints and attempted to pull free from the two guards. Her one and only friend had completely betrayed her! Layla was pretty much the only person Scarlett ever trusted. They'd been friends since the woman first moved to the states. Scarlett took her in and helped her get settled and the two of them became the best of friends. She knew Layla better than anyone...or at least she thought she did. Not even Scarlett knew the truth about her life back in Australia. The woman was extremely dangerous, even more so than Scarlett was, and no one had a clue.

"Scarlett, you need to listen to me, if you don't calm down, things are going to get a lot worse for you." Mrs. Campbell whispered in her ear. The blonde showed no sign in letting up though. Her eyes were locked in on Allen and her nails were clawing at the restrains around her wrists. "Fuck you.." she muttered to her lawyer.

"All Rise!" Scarlett didn't budge and that caught the attention of the judge. When he made his way over to the bench, he glanced over at Scarlett and her lawyer. "Mrs. Campbell, would you mind bringing her up here for me?"

The woman nodded and leaned down tell Scarlett to get up. With a long drawn out sigh, she stood to her feet and made her way over towards the judge. "What...?" It was clear she had no respect for anyone around her.

Leaning forward, the judge started directly in to her eyes. "Miss. Brennan, if you have one more outburst like you did before I walked in here, I will find you in contempt of court, do you understand me?" This wasn't a good way to start off her criminal trail. Her gaze narrowed at the judge, she forced a smile, then nodded. "I completely understand, your honor."

The judge nodded. "Good. You may be seated then, Miss. Brennan." Once Scarlett and her lawyer made her way back to be seated, the judge sat back and looked over to Allen's laywer. "Are you ready to begin?"
