The Water Drenched Meeting {Archie&Anita}
Current mood:  creative

It was an early yet remarkably sunny morning within the small town know as Storybrooke, a beautiful morning to sleep in, especially on a Saturday. Alas, sleeping in was obviously not going to be happening for the town psychiatrist, for Archie was pulled out of his deep sleep by the feeling of Pongo's tongue  lapping happily at his face. At the feeling of his companions wet, slobbery tongue lick away at his cheek, Archie let out a sigh and opened his eyes, gently pushing the dog away from his face with a smile.

"Alright, alright. I'm up, boy." He chuckled softly as he sat up in bed, and stretched.

As he was stretching he reached over to his nightstand, and picked up his glasses, carefully setting them on his face. Once he was able to see, his azure gaze shifted over towards his alarm clock which read: 5:00 AM. With a groan, Archie's gaze shifted over towards Pongo who was looking up at him innocently, the leash hanging from his mouth expectantly.

"Aw, Pongo. You woke me up early, you know I get up at six." Archie smiled softly, he couldn't be angry at Pongo, just one look at that sweet face got him melting. He then reached out and scratched the dog affectionately behind the ear. "I suppose you wanna go for a walk, huh?" he mused, which seemed to excite Pongo even more.

Archie then threw his legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood, heading over to his closet. After a few moments of picking out his clothes, he headed to the bathroom for a hot shower. Once he was finished with his shower, and was fully dressed he was met with Pongo sitting at the bathroom door expectantly, as if he had been waiting for him. Archie blinked as he looked at his dog in confusion, of course Pongo was naturally affectionate but he never waited around for Archie to get dressed before.

"You must really wanna go on that walk, huh boy?" Archie laughed, as he reached out to take the leash from the dog's mouth, and latch it around his neck.

Once the leash was in place Pongo didn't waste any time, because once the door open the dog was off leaving poor Archie to stumble behind him. Usually Pongo walked at a slow pace, though today it was as if he had a strange burst of energy, for Pongo was practically running.

"Hey, easy there boy!" Archie scolded softly, but Pongo kept on as if he was in search for something which did strike Archie as odd, but he pushed it away from his mind and continued walking in a desperate attempt to keep up with Pongo.

Originally Archie had planned on walking to Granny's and perhaps stop for a bite to eat, but it seemed Pongo wasn't going to be corporative today due to the fact he walked right past it. Archie attempted to get Pongo to stop, but he just kept on pushing through causing a laugh to erupt from Ruby as she watched on in amusement.

"Looks like Pongo has some serious plans this morning!" Ruby called out playfully.

"It would seem so." Archie laughed as he looked over towards the young woman. "I have no idea what's gotten into him, he's never this...well, energetic in the mornings." he laughed softly, as Pongo pressed forward practically dragging the doctor behind him.

It was a shame Pongo didn't stop, because usually Archie enjoyed to converse with Ruby in the mornings, and usually Pongo was always happy to visit Ruby but today from the direction they were going, it seemed Pongo was dead set on visiting the park. After a moments thought, Archie decided he'd just go with it, he could always stop by Granny's after Pongo's walk, surely he the dog would be tuckered out by then and in need of a good rest.

As they made their way down the dirt path of the park, Pongo's pace began to pick up. From where Archie stood it looked as if Pongo was searching for something, and it seemed Pongo was determined to find whatever it was.

"Pongo, take it easy!" Archie whispered as he attempted to get his companion to slow his pace. "What's with all the hurry?" he frowned, as he stumbled after him awkwardly.

Eventually Pongo slowed his pace, much to Archie's appreciation honestly Archie wasn't expecting this much of a work out this early in the morning.  Archie followed after Pongo slowly as they neared the pond, much to Archie's delight there was a nice bench he could settle down in for a breather.

As they two sat and peered out upon the lake, Archie could tell Pongo was getting a bit antsy, refusing to sit still. Though Archie merely reached out and scratched him behind the ear, hoping that would relax the poor dog. Archie was far too into his own thoughts, he didn't even notice the young woman and her own Dalmatian sitting near them on the next bench over, though Pongo seen them and from his next actions, it was obvious Pongo wanted Archie to see them too.

Pongo the jumped up and grabbed the edge of Archie's scarf between his teeth, giving it a rough pull and within minutes the scarf fell from his master's neck, allowing Pongo to run about. Archie blinked as he stood from his bench, his brow furrowed in confusion. This isn't like Pongo at all! he thought to himself.

"Pongo, knock it off." he said sternly as he took a step towards the dog, but Pongo was smart and jumped away crouching down playfully, causing Archie to laugh. "C'mon Pongo, this isn't the time to play." he said softly, as he slowly reached out to take the scarf, but Pongo ran off. "Pongo! Wait!" Archie cried as he rushed off after his dog.

Pongo then trotted over towards the next bench over, and tossed Archie's scarf on the bench next to the young woman, only then is when Archie took notice to her. A small polite smile appeared upon Archie's face as he approached the bench, reaching out to pick up his scarf. Archie then shot a glance back towards Pongo, a disapproving glance that Pongo knew all too well as his master wrapped the scarf around his neck.

Though Pongo could of cared less about the looks Archie was giving them, because the woman and her Dalmatian seemed to have moved, Pongo couldn't let that happen, now could he? Though before Pongo could run off towards the woman, Archie hooked his finger in Pongo's collar causing him to cease all movements.

"What in the world has gotten into you, Pongo?" Archie asked in a disapproving tone, as he eyed his furry companion. "C'mon, I think that's enough fun for today. How about we stop at Granny's, I'm sure Ruby will have some water for you." he said softly, as he got a better grasp on Pongo's leash.

Though just as Archie looked away to hook his lucky umbrella on his arm, Pongo was off; Dragging the poor doctor behind him once more.

"Pongo!" Archie cried, though it was obvious the dog wasn't listening.

Thankfully for Pongo the woman wasn't too far away, all he had to do was sprint to catch up with her. And once Pongo was in touching distance with her,  he carefully circled both her and Archie, causing his leash to wrap around their legs, ceasing them of their movements.

Archie's azure eyes went wide as he quickly reached out to steady the woman in front of him, with one wrong move the both of them could obviously go toppling over and Archie was far too concerned about her safety to even realize how close they were to one another.

"Gee, I'm so, so sorry! I-I don't know what got into Pongo, he isn't usually like this!" Archie apologized quickly, his cheeks flushing a bright shade for red as he looked down at the young woman.

The woman laughed nervously, as he placed her hands against Archie's chest desperately clutching at the lapels of his coat to keep from toppling over. "Its quite alright, you're dog's rather lively isn't he?" she teased playfully as she pulled herself closer to the man in front of her.

Though just as they seemed to be regaining their balance Pongo decided to move towards the other Dalmatian, causing the two to completely toppled right into the pond with a loud: splash!
As Archie felt the cold water embrace him, he was rather shocked to say the least behavior like this was completely unlike Pongo, and he was about to scold him for it though his azure gaze met with the woman sitting next to him, equally as drenched and they both laughed.

As they sat laughing in the pond, only then Archie was able to get a better look at her and that is when he realized how beautiful she was, she had: short blonde hair, pink full lips, a cute button nose and the most beautiful sapphire blue eyes he had ever seen. Though when he caught himself staring at her, his cheeks began to heat up.

"I-I um, I'm so sorry! Pongo isn't well, he isn't usually like this." he chuckled nervously as he carefully got to his feet, slowly reaching a hand to help her.

The woman regarded his hand for a moment, before reaching out to take it and allow him to pull her to her feet. Standing in the water in heels, wasn't a very easy task but thankfully Archie was there to keep her steady as they carefully stepped out of the pond, water dripping from their drenched clothes. Though when Archie realized how soaked she was, he blinked and quickly shrugged off his equally as wet coat and draped it over her shoulders, much to her shock.

"Thank you, you're very kind." she laughed softly, as she pulled the drenched coat closer to her small frame.

"I um, its wet, but um...well..." Archie stumbled over his words as he shifted his stance, what more could he say? Yes, it was a kind gesture...but also slightly pointless since the coat wouldn't give her much warmth.

"It's perfect, thank you." she laughed softly, reaching out to straighten his glasses. She then took a step back from him, the smile never falling from her pink lips as she tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. "My name is Anita, by the way." she said shyly.

"Anita." Archie said softly, a small smile appearing upon his lips. "Um, I'm...Archie, Archie Hopper." he said nervously, as his gaze shifted over towards Pongo. "And that, well as you might have guess...is Pongo." he laughed nervously. "I don't...see many other Dalmatians in town." he mused as he motioned towards the female dog sitting next to Pongo.

"Oh, that's Perdita."  Anita laughed softly as she looked up at the ginger doctor in front of her. "I've had her for as long as I can remember, though we don't exactly live in town." she said gently, and Archie couldn't help but find her accent soothing.

Soon it hit Archie, they were both soaking wet they would likely catch their death out here if they just sit about, so Archie reached over to grab Pongo's leash and turned to Anita, the smile never falling from his lips. "Why don't you come to my office?" he offered softly. "Its jus that, well...we're both soaked. I wouldn't want you to catch a cold or something, I um, I have coffee or tea. Whichever you'd like." he chuckled nervously.

Anita smiled brightly, revealing her cheerful dimples as she reached out for Perdita's leash. She then reached out with her free hand, and took Archie's arm. "I would absolutely love that." she said sincerely, the smile never falling from her lips.

As they two made their way back into two, Archie didn't even realize how odd of a couple they might of looked, both drenched and dripping but honestly that never crossed his mind, he was far too enraptured by the woman next to him. It was odd, he had never felt such a strong connection with someone almost like magnets, he had to admit he liked it, though he couldn't help but wonder if Anita felt it as well. His azure gaze then shifted over towards their dogs as a small smile appeared upon his lips, from where he stood it seemed as if Pongo had found himself a girlfriend. It was funny, Pongo had a better time finding love than Archie did, but then again...perhaps Pongo led Archie to Anita for a reason?

xXxXx

Once they reached Archie's office, he quickly jumped into action and started a fire so he could lay their drenched clothes out to dry. Once they close were neatly laid out, and they were both in dry and warmer clothes, he set out to make them both tea. Though as he waited on the tea, he couldn't help but feel an odd sense of nervousness, for reasons he didn't particularly understand. His azure gaze then shifted over his shoulder as he studied the blonde woman sitting upon his sofa, she was rather pretty. It was a wonder they never crossed paths before in town, perhaps they town was indeed a lot bigger than it seemed.

When they tea was finally ready, he made his way over to the sofa and handed her the cup, as he offered her a small smile. "I hope Earl Grey is alright, that's all I had." he said softly, as he took a seat next to her.

"Oh, no that's perfect. Thank you." she said sincerely, as she enjoyed the warmth radiating from the cup in her small hands.

Her azure gaze then shifted towards the man next to her, as she offered him sweet smile. Though as she took in his face, she couldn't help but notice the starting of a bruise on his forehead, causing her to frown. She then slowly reached out to touch his forehead gently, when he winched she knew her assumption was correct.

"It looks like you have a rather nasty bruise on your forehead, doctor." she said softly, as she slowly removed her hand. "Perhaps you ought to put some ice on it." she suggested.

"I..I do?" he asked dumbly, quite honestly he was hardly listening. All he could focus on at the moment where her eyes, they were like his, but also different. Though eventually when he registered her words, he smiled and looked away. "I'll be fine, I promise." he said shyly, as he took a small sip of his tea.

"You know, it was ever so sweet of you to offer me a place to dry off." she said gently, as she also took a small sip of her tea.

"I couldn't just let you wander home in soaking clothes." he said softly, as he looked down at the cup in his hands. He couldn't really put his finger on it, but there was something about this woman. It was as if something was pulling him to her, he couldn't help but wonder if she could feel it too.

Archie's gaze then shifted over towards Pongo, and he couldn't help but smile. Pongo and Perdy were cuddled up together by the fire, while Pongo licked Perdy lovingly. It was an adorable sight to see, it seems the two had really taken a strong liking to one another. Archie then nudged Anita gently, causing her to look. When she saw their dogs, she couldn't help but laugh softly.

"Oh, how sweet!" she said sincerely, as she set her cup aside. "It's so good to see Perdy have another dog to interact with, I'm sure I become such dull company after awhile." she teased. Though watching this tender display only made Anita's heart ache, seeing how attach they were to each other, Anita couldn't find the heart to rip them apart. Deep down in her heart, she felt they should stay together always, but that would be impossible, wouldn't it? Perdy had to come home with her, and Pongo would stay home with Archie. Sure, the two could see each other now and again, but would that really be fair?

"I think we might have a bit of a problem." Anita said softly, causing Archie to look at her in confusion. "I think my dog is in love." she said with a small smile. Who said animals couldn't find true love?

"It seems that way doesn't it?" Archie smiled, as he set his cup aside. "I think Pongo is in love as well, look at the two of them." he said gently, as he turned to look at Anita. "Though, why is that a problem?" he asked in confusion.

Anita's lips fell into a frown as she shook her head. "They're going to be broken hearted when I leave." she said in a low tone, it was sweet how strongly and quickly Perdy and Pongo's bond formed. Though it was also cruel, when two dogs loved each other that much it wasn't fair to make them part ways.

"Gee, you're right." Archie said sadly, as he watched Pongo. "I don't think I could bare to live with a broken hearted Dalmatian." he said honestly. Archie was glad Pongo was able to connect with another dog, but he couldn't help but agree with Anita. Pongo would be absolutely devastated when she and Perdy left, and secretly Archie knew he would be too.

"We better think of something, don't you think?" she asked as she offered him a smile.

"I agree, there has to be some solution to this problem." he said with a nod, as his lips twitched up into that sweet smile of his. "Um, would you like another cup of marriage, while we think of a solution?" he asked, completely unaware that he misspoke and made a very drastic error.

Anita's brow furrowed as she looked into Archie's azure gaze, she most certainly caught what he said. Did he really say marriage, or was she hearing things? Perhaps she had a knock to her head as well, and now she's hearing things. No, it wasn't sure her...he did say marriage. How odd. Though Anita would be lying if she said she didn't fancy that idea, despite how quickly it arose. After all, they just met. "Erm, excuse me?" she asked softly.

"Tea?" Archie asked softly, quickly becoming aware of his slip up. He had no idea where that came from, he wash hoping she didn't catch it fully, and he was also hoping she didn't notice how red his face was, he could practically feel it burning up. "Another...cup of tea?"

"I'm quite certain you said Marriage." Anita said boldly, as she looked into his lovely eyes. She couldn't help but smile at his adorably red face.

"Um, marriage?" he asked, trying to play confusion.

"Yes. Marriage." Anita confirmed, nodding her head. "That's what you said, I'm sure of it. I...well, you meant to say tea, but it...it came out marriage." she rambled nervously.

"Oh, did it?" Archie asked shyly, as he cleared his throat awkwardly. "I'm s-sorry, do you want another cup of...tea?" he asked softly, the heat of embarrassment still hot on his face. Though Archie had to admit, despite the fact they had just met that morning he didn't wish to be apart from her. He couldn't very well explain it, but there was something about her. Something, he felt he couldn't live without. This didn't just have to do with Pongo being in love, perhaps...he was starting to fall in love himself? Just the thought of it scared him, it had never happened to him before, quite honestly he didn't think it'd ever happen with him being Jiminy Cricket and all.

"I do." Anita said softly, losing herself in his azure gaze. She couldn't help but feel herself being pulled towards him, just sitting there contently and looking into his eyes she felt her heart swell with joy. Now, this was something that had never happened before, though despite how forgien the feeling was, she found she rather enjoyed it. She had heard stories from her mother, about finding that one person you couldn't live without, and dare she say...Archie was that person for her. How odd love was, she never imagined for it to happen and develop so quickly.

"You...you do?" Archie asked dumbfounded, deep down he knew they weren't speaking about the tea. This simple conversation was about much more than tea.

"I will." Anita smiled, as she tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear shyly.

"You will?" Archie asked, as his lips spread into a bright grin.

"If you ask me, of course." Anita laughed, she couldn't help but fall even more for him. He was such a kind man, with a heart of gold. She would be a fool not to love him.

"Would you?" he asked hopefully, as he leaned closer to her. Now, this was completely out of the ordinary for Archie, usually he wouldn't be moving in such a fast pace, some would consider this reckless. Though, for the first time Archie found he didn't care if it was reckless, as long as Anita was by his side he would be happy, and things would work out.

"Yes." she smiled, as she closed the gap between them, her hands reaching up to cradle his face as she kissed him lovingly.

At their first kiss, they both felt something inside them melt. As his arms wrapped around her waist, she only held him closer. In that moment everything around them became hazy, they only thing they could focus on was each other, and they realized they should be kissing one another for the rest of their days, they felt so lucky to have found one another. They knew they should owe it to Pongo and Perdy for forcing them to meet in such a way that they did. And in that short moment of time, they found true love. They found each other. They were meant to love one another, no one could tell them any different. Together they would love in love, Archie and Anita, Pongo and Perdy.

A/N: Just a random little idea that came to mind. I adore Archie, and I always wanted him to have a true love, then I realized in a weird way Archie was technically Roger from 101 Dalmatians, so I figured Anita would be his true love.
