ONE. After a particularly severe breakdown in the form of a very public disturbance, 16-year-old Marcelle is sent to Clockworks and stays there for a decade. She is volatile and resistant to most of their treatment, but it’s still decidedly a better fit than most places she’d previously ended up in..
TWO. Marcelle’s powers are discovered early on and at age 11, she is taken in by Division 3 and trained to aid them in their endeavors. Though she’s managed to charm some of the staff, she is still almost always wearing a thick collar that can be detonated by the push of a button in case she ever becomes a threat to them. Despite this, she considers them to be the closest thing to family she’s ever had, even if she doesn’t always enjoy the tasks she’s given.
THREE. Combining the two verses above, Marcelle is sent to Clockworks by Division 3 to pose as a patient and get some sought after information.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ stranger-things }
ONE. Triggered by the most painful experiment she had ever undergone at the Hawkins Lab, Marcelle (Five) hastily manages to escape, running as far as she could. After years of hiding out in France, she returns to Indiana to find her ‘siblings’ and apologize for abandoning them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ american-gods }
ONE. Marcelle has a terrible case of Rebellious Demigod Syndrome. Zeus was a deadbeat dad, so why should she care about being a God anyway? She rejects any attempts to recruit her by both sides of the current conflict, but eventually, when the steaks get higher she’ll have to stop running.

ONE. Instead of her breakdown landing her at Clockworks, it triggers her powers and Marcelle gains control over an entire small town when her another one of her foster father’s vitriolic tirades pushes her over the edge.

Having no choice but to empathize on a basic level with everyone she comes into contact with, Marcelle is very nonjudgmental and open to most people (to a degree). Occasionally, she has a tendency to take on the plight of others as if they were her own because she can’t help feeling that they are.
She’s generally pleasant to be around and usually amplifies any positive atmosphere she’s placed in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ the-bad }
She can be a terrible judge of character, giving leeway to undeserving people. Her ease in making friends is coupled with a tendency to rush into romantic relationships that often burn out quickly due to her zealous approach. Though her childishness can be charming sometimes, it’s more often than not irritating to most around her. She is unable to deal with negative feelings and will usually find a way to get away from them rather than solving the problem or dealing with them unless she is forced to.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ the-ugly }
Marcelle doesn’t get close to many people, but when she does, she can be extremely possessive. When she feels that the person’s feelings for her are dwindling she becomes desperate and will do anything to prevent them from leaving. If she feels she’s exhausted all options, she will lash out and often ends up cutting off all ties. She’s overly passionate in all of her relationships and expects that same energy from the other person.
Anger is something she shows rarely but can be frightening when she does. Generally, every intense emotion is amplified to terrifying levels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ blue-barry }
In all verses, Marcelle owns a small, blue stuffed bear that is often seen with a ribbon around its neck. She calls him Blue Barry (Barry for short, Mr. Barry to strangers which she insists is his preference). She is most attached to him in the Legion and Stranger Things verses, always having him close by either in a bag or keychained to her person. He’s an extension of her and how she feels about those around her. The people she trusts and likes are on good terms with Barry, if she doesn’t like or trust someone, they’re not even allowed to touch him and she’s visibly uncomfortable when they do.

At its lowest level, she is able to sense other people's emotions and is influenced by them. It can be involuntarily heightened enough for her to feel their physical pain depending on proximity and if she has ever merged minds with the individual. On a higher level, she is able to influence the emotions of others, including their physical senses. She also eventually learns to control her own pain levels, but this only prevents her from feeling pain and not from the damage of injuries inflicted on her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ mind-control }
She has the ability to take over the mind of any sentient creature (including insects, though their brains are obviously much more simple) and physically control both individual limbs or their entire body by gaining control of various parts of the brain. Her power isn't limited to one mind at a time and the maximum amount that can be under her influence simultaneously is unknown. The proximity of this power's reach seems to have no limit, but since Marcelle isn't omnipresent, this ability is still limited to people whose existence she is aware of and minds she has been connected to previously at any level. At the highest level, she might be able to have limited omnipresence by controlling several minds of people and/or animals in multiple places at a time.

The next step after learning to control the influence of other's emotions on her would be this. She would be able to block any general mind manipulation powers of other mutants and shield others as well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀{ mind-melding/hive-mind }
She can fuse her consciousness with one or more individuals, but this requires her to partially surrender control of her own mind. With this power, she can share knowledge and retain that information even after disconnecting from a person's consciousness (ex. if the person is fluent in another language she will gain that fluency).

CHILDHOOD. Sensory overload. Her childhood can be summed up almost entirely by this. The child was frequently prone to this and frustrating tantrums. She became too overwhelming to her mother, who already had her reservations about being a parent, and one day the woman never came to pick her up from primary school.
ADOLESCENCE. Throughout childhood and adolescence, Marcelle is moved to various places, never quite fitting in anywhere. Eventually, they stop using the phrase “new home” when placing her.
