Task 001

🌡~I’m a Cactus~🌡
I give it my all, so like it or not I’m gonna shine, it’s my time!

Cactus~A.C.E.
Why cactus?
Well let’s break it down and explain!

So! Let’s get this thing started!
To me, at the very least, it reflects a lot of Yuzuru. Past, and present.
It shows his past depression, perseverance, determination, confidence, and Phoenix!

Depression: He’s been suicidal in the past, and nearly successfully hung himself in the Aokigahara forests(suicide forest) at the base of Mt. Fuji. There are a few lyrics that push this, “I feel like I’m running with nowhere to go. Somebody help me out, no one can hear my cries. Feel like I’m alone and I’m all dried up, storms breaking through my mind.” I feel is a good example of this. He felt alone and like he was running but getting nowhere, he felt nobody would listen, so off he went into the forest.
Perseverance: So! This little bean tried to kill himself, right? Clearly he survived so he pushed through the pain and just kept moving forward, didn’t matter how badly it hurt. He loves his sport and wants to be successful, so what represents that?
“The more that I fall, the more that I grow. Too late to back away now..” I feel fits this best, just keep pushing forward and give it your best and don’t back away.
Determination: Now Yuzuru’s just pushing forward and he’s on the olympic team. He’s determined to win, he wants to win. He does and then he takes on a second olympics, and training for his third. He’s fully determined to become a three time Olympic champion, it’s his goal.
“My drive, my grind, my pride keeps my head above the ground. It’s something they can’t touch.”
Confidence: With that determination is born something he’s been lacking off and on, confidence. With this Yuzuru was able to become the man to beat in skating, to allow him to seem untouchable.
“Can’t knock me out, or ever break me down ‘cause I’m a cactus.”
Phoenix: Phoenix, or Hyo Shin came in in the middle of all this development and improvement, actually having a huge part in this growth. He gave Yuzuru something to live for, and became his support system so that he’s not doing and going through all these struggles alone. He understands that Yuzu was broken at some point and that he can easily fall back into the depression, but he does all he can to keep Yuzuru going.
“I’m running for your love, it keeps me going on.” And “please hold me, hold me tight. My broken thorns and all. Give me a sign and I, I will survive.”

𝐼 𝒢𝓂 𝓂𝑒 - Activity Check

Seimei more so tells a story, Yuuri's story. It is one of his programs he returns goes back on to inspire himself and for multiple year's it has popped up in his career multiple times. It was being used even before he had it officially as his long program in the 2018 Olympics. Which makes this piece his "Theme song". It carries a heavy Japanese feel to it, he takes great pride in this and his home country, he holds this feeling of home close to his heart. On top of being a beautiful piece of music, it also carries a powerful feel to it showing both his serious and gentle side of his personality. He will continue to be remembered for this performance and winning his second consecutive title with it in the 2018 Olympics.
