Starting Over (drabble)

While Amelia was praying in the hospital Chapel, she asked many things of God. One was to take her instead of her daughter’s; another was if she woke up, the blonde would disappear from everyone’s lives. I mean, who would even miss her. Spencer hasn’t loved her in years, if at all. Her two children can’t even stand being in the same room with her. For the first time, the older female felt more alone than anything. She might not have done the things to Mary that Spencer did, but with turning a blind eye, might as well have. To say she wanted to kill herself, that was true, but it was an easy way out. Even though she wasn’t going to jail, Amelia felt she needed to punish herself. Having everything taken away from her was just the beginning. All she cared about now was Mary healing and getting better.

After her brief visit to see her daughter, grabbing her things that were on the chair outside the room, Amelia left the hospital. Taking a taxi to the airport, the blonde booked a flight back home.  It was going to be a few hours before it took off, so going to one of the coffee shops, setting her lap top up, the female wrote both Mary and William letters

Dear Mary,

I want to give my deepest apologizes. I was never the mother you wanted, needed and deserved. If I could go back and change things, I would in a heartbeat. William and you were my greatest gifts in my life. I took out my anger for Spencer on you and I will always hate and never forgive myself for what you went through because of it. I am glad we got a little happy time with us before everything once again went to sh*t. I am proud of you more than you will ever know. You had a rough life, but you are living on your own and not using the family money to do it and get what you want. I hope one day you will forgive me for everything. Please heal and find yourself. Be happy and live the best life you can. You of all people deserve nothing but the best. I will always love you.

                                                                                                                                Love always,

                                                                                                                      Amelia, your mother.

Stopping for a moment, Amelia had to wipe the tears from her eyes. It was killing doing this, but she couldn’t put her daughter through any more pain. Being around, was just a constant reminder of it all.

A waiter came up asking if she wanted something, asking for a coffee, the male left to get her one. On to her next letter.

Dear William,

I am sorry for my press conference. I should have talked to you first, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. As much as I loved your father, he needed to be outed and punished. I still feel that way. Looks like he is getting off scott free. My intentions were to never ruin things for Mary or you. It was to hurt Spencer. I am also sorry for failing you as a mother as well. I should have been there for Mary like I was for you. It is something I am going to have to live with for the rest of my life. I am going to be disappearing from all your lives. It will hopefully bring you all the peace you need. You have always made me proud. I know you are going to go on and do amazing things. Be the President this country needs. I hope you one day will forgive me. I love you very much.

                                                                                                                                  Love always.

                                                                                                                         Amelia, your mother

The waiter came to give Amelia her coffee. “Do you have a printer I could use? I need to print out a few things.” He nodded and pointed over to it, giving her directions on how to connect to it. Thanking him, the female printed out both letters. Opening her briefcase, taking out two envelopes, folding the letters and addressing them to her kids at the hospital to her room number, she bought stamps and sent the letters.

Shutting down her laptop, putting it away, Amelia grabbed her coffee and left. It was not much longer until her flight. Now she just had to get home, deal with Spencer and start her new life.

Doing the right thing (Drabble)
Current mood:  ashamed

Amelia has always been Spencer’s little lap dog. Even when their marriage was in the toilet, she would protect him at all costs. The blonde blamed their daughter, Mary aka Gypsy for the downfall of their marriage. It was her guilt and ignorance that blinded her of who she should have hated. It wasn’t until recently when the older female found out the truth of what Spencer had done to their daughter before she ran away. The sad part was, deep inside, she had a feeling but never wanted to believe it.

After years of Gypsy and her hating each other, the two have talked and mended their mother daughter relationship. There was still that denial within the blonde female. Amelia felt like she could fix things and bring her family back together. It took some harsh words from her daughter for it to sink in. It was never going to happen. Spencer was a sick man who had no remorse for anything he has done or said.

Sitting at her husband’s bedside after Gypsy left with her roommates/friends, Chanel and Naomi, the woman just looked at Spencer. She loved him very much, but things couldn’t go on like this anymore. Even though it was not said that Spencer was behind the kidnapping, she knew. It was time that she stopped coddling his sick behavior and forced him to deal with the consequences of his actions. If he went to jail, so be it. He needed tough love right now.

Amelia stood up, leaning over his unconscious body kissing his cheeks since he had a respirator on. Moving to his ear, whispering. “I love you, but it’s time for you to pay for everything you have put our daughter through.” Standing back up, she was going to go down as well. It’s what she deserved.

Walking out of the room, removing her phone from her purse, Amelia called all the local news stations telling them to be in the hospital auditorium in one hour. Calling the board of the hospital letting them know she needed the auditorium for a press release.  Hanging up, Amelia made her way to the auditorium getting on the stage waiting. The hospital staff helped get the room ready for when the camera’s and press came.

When that hour was up, all the local news was there with their cameras and microphones.  Stepping out on the stage walking up to the many microphones, she began. “Good evening everyone. I first want to update you on both Spencer and Mary. Mary was found….let me refresh that. Spencer met with the kidnappers and somehow he was shot in the process. I don’t know all the details since my daughter is still in a state of shock and not talking, but that is the just of what I know. He had surgery last night and is in coma as of right now. Mary is on a private jet flying back to her home. Leave her be, she needs to heal.” Pausing, the press began to ask question until she held up her hand. “I’m not finished. I will not be answering any questions after I finish. What I am going to say next is going to shock all of you and probably make you sick. My husband is not the man you think he is. From an early age of our daughter, he did things to her a father should never do to their child, hell to any child. From then on out, he has tortured, harassed and threaten her. The shooting that happened months ago, that was all him. He wanted to kill her. I should have been a mother who protected her daughter. Instead, I turned a blind eye living a life in total denial. I am here now to let the world know what kind of man Spencer Kennedy is and a woman I am. If I have to face charges, so be it. My daughter should have come first all those years ago and she needs to come first now.” With that, she turned and left the room and hospital going to the police station to turn herself in.

What Once Was
Current mood:  apathetic

Amelia was young when she met Spencer, in high school actually. Her father and his father were good friends, both working in the government and golfing buddies. The blonde was shy, a good student and had many friends, of course a lot of them where there because of her father’s statued. The age of 16 is when she had met Spencer. Her father brought her to one of his political parties looking to hopefully get one of the sons would catch her eye or the other way around.

Being introduced to many sons, that night only one had caught her eye, Spencer Kennedy. However, the young man who was older than Amelia didn’t seem interested in the least. The male pretty much ran off seconds after their father’s introduced each other. Maybe it was the fact that he didn’t seem interest is what caused her attraction. For the remainder of the night, Amelia hung around the other daughters who gossiped about everyone and of course talked about who they liked. Not one for gossip, the blonde just listened to them talk and gush about boys, mostly Spencer. He was even a catch back then.

For years, they would always attend the same political parties, but he was into other girls and Amelia mostly stayed to herself watching him from afar. One of the reasons she liked him was for the fact that he was a strong, independent, doesn’t take sh*t kind of man, who controls everything around him.  It wasn’t until she turned18 when Spencer finally took notice of her they way she had always dreamed. That was the happiest day of her young life. Going on many dates, the two ended up married by the age of 20. He taught her how to be a strong woman who stood by his side.

Having their first child a year later, William was the apple of their eyes. Spending many years caring for both her husband and son, it was ten years later when Mary was born. Amelia was thrilled to have a daughter, until she was in her early teens. It was after that, that Spencer and her marriage started going down hill. It was not right to be so jealous of her only daughter, but her husband had pretty much spend all his time with Gypsy and when he was not with her, he would talk about her nonstop. It got to the point where Amelia hated her own daughter. The day Gypsy ran away, there was relief, hope that Spencer would finally come back to her. His obsession grew causing fight after fight.

For years, Amelia turned to other men having affair after affair trying to fill the void. However, it never was good enough. As much as she hated Spencer, her heart still loved him just as strongly as it did when they got married. It was recently that Mary and Amelia finally reconnected making up for lost time. When that happened, something inside of her wanted to end all affairs she was having. Despite the anger, resentment and jealously, Amelia wanted her family back together and normal. Most importantly, she wanted Spencer to love her like he did in the beginning, even if he said it was all a lie; the female didn’t buy that sh*t for one minute.
