Early Morning Training

It was early. Much earlier then usual. The sun had barely breached the horizon when Gwyn woke up. She wasn't sure why. She was used to getting up early to join the Valkyries for training, but this early? She wasn't complaining though, she'd always been a morning person.
Opting for her leathers instead of her priestess robes, her coppery red hair plated down her back, she exited the dorms to the large library. She also donned her white Valkyrie headband, she knew she didn't have to for training, but it made her feel powerful, so she did. Only a few other priestesses were up, mostly ones that had been there all night and would head to bed now. Gwyn nodded at each of them with a happy smile, her clear teal eyes shining brightly, an homage to her quarter river nymph genes.
Noticing a cart of books that needed returning, Gwyn helped put them away, making sure to help with the duties around the library before she left to go to an early morning training session. She finished up and trotted up the many steps to the training ring, knowing well enough that know one would be there this early.
The sunrise was beautiful this morning, a bright pink growing across the sky as it chased away the dark royal blue of the night. She sucked in a deep breath, filling her lungs full with the fresh morning air. It was crisp, but just right for training. Before she got her weapon, she made sure to stretch. Bending to touch her toes, twisting at the waist, pulling an arm over her chest. She then headed over to the weapons stand, grabbing her favorite short sword.
She weighed it carefully in her hands, the familiar weight a welcome feeling. Her eyes darted menacingly at the straw dummy against the far wall, a cruel smirk curling at her lips as she eyed her target.
With a quick surge, she took off across the ring, sprinting at the target, the sword raised high above her head. Near feet from the dummy, she let out a ferocious growl before slashing down her sword. The sword hit the dummy with a thud, the straw muffling the crash. Just as the sword met it's target, she spun in place, the sword swinging around her and catching the dummy across the stomach with a sickening slice. With a finishing spin, she sliced up the dummy, from navel to neck, then held the sword above her head victoriously.
She panted, smiling proudly, her eyes darting to the stairway entrance, secretly wishing Cassian or Azriel were there to witness her badassery. Especially the latter. A rose blush crossed her face, accentuating the freckles sprinkled across her face.
As if the dummy were real person, she acted as if she were walking away from them nonchalantly, then suddenly turning, whipping her leg around to roundhouse kick the dummy, her booted foot connecting with its neck. "Didn't expect that, did you?" She smirked impishly at the straw figure, "just wait until I pull out the throwing daggers..."
