Disclaimer: I in no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or its characters, Just enjoy my drabble, Will return them all when I’m done with them: Lilly Rush and her best friend Kat Miller had been in the break room at the 16th Precinct. discussing her wedding plans that would occur in less then a month. For the first time in a long time she was happy, She found the man of her dreams and oddly enough she really didn’t have to look very far. To any outsider, their wedding would be a Shot gun wedding because he had also gotten her pregnant, but to the two of them it was true love, they would have gotten married anyway, Despite the child hood she had, her abandonment issues Scotty Valens was the one guy that had always been there, He broke through all of her walls. Kat envied the two of them, finding love when they least expected to, not that she was all that surprised She knew they liked each other, in fact everyone there had, The shocking part was finding out her best friend had been pregnant , still she was happy for her , she smiled at her looking at the tiny baby bump that Lilly tried to hide but everyone else had seen “So.. I think I sent all of the invitations.. is there anyone else…” She was going to say more when a strange man had barged right in to the office. Paul Cooper had an angry look on his face, The lady at the front desk had pointed him in the direction of where his daughter had been, He was not pleased, of all the ways to find out his daughter was getting married it was through his son . He barged in to the room and said with a yell “Lillian!! Why would you not tell me you were getting married??!!” He saw the baby bump she was sporting and shook his head “and you’re pregnant?!.. I shouldn’t have to find this all out through my son! Why wouldn’t I get an invitation!!?” He said, he was hurt and it showed. Kat looked at Lil and simply said “I’m going to go, Lunch break is over, we’ll talk more later okay Lil” she offered. Lil nodded and watched her walk out of the room, A part of her wished she’d stay there, or that Scotty would walk in, She couldn’t deal with this right now, nor did she want to, still however She knew she had to “Do you blame me Dad? You walked out on me, Chris and Mom…. You have a whole other family I just found out about!!” She spat back at him, then added “As far as your “grand baby” goes” She began using finger quotes “You have another one, Chris has a daughter to, do. You even Know that Chris is in town, that she’s in Rehab, that my Fiancee’ and I have temporary custody of her daughter?!! Think about it Dad you walked out of our lives and never looked back, why should any of us give you anycourtesy?” Scotty Valens had just walked back in to the office after speaking to a few witnesses in their case, He saw his love in the break room, angrily speaking to someone he had never met before that moment. He could see when she needed him, call it the intuition he got , He loved her, that had been why he rescued her in his own little way , walking in to the room he wrapped his arm around Lilly “Everything okay Lil?” He asked her. All the anger her dad had given her had gone away the minute he wrapped his arm around her, his finger slowly rubbing the small of her back “It’s fine Scotty…” She looked at him as she said “My Dad was just leaving” This wasn’t exactly the way Paul Cooper wanted to meet his future son in law but it would have to do “Uh Nice to meet you son” He offered, Lilly frowned she did suppose that they should meet officially, She calmed down long enough to say “This is my boyfriend, Scotty”. She mentioned to her dad  In that moment Scotty understood why she was so afraid of losing him, the thing was he loved her to much to ever repeat the sins of her father.   “Us against the World”   Lilly Rush had been working a particularily tough Cold Case from 1972, One where a young woman had been brutally murdered using a car bomb,  She was deep in thought staring at her computer screen, Up until that moment they had no real leads “Lil” Her boss had said her name breaking her thoughts “Valens brought in our vic’s Ex , He says he has some information and asked for you by name” She said. She nodded as she looked at him, None knew what that one little action do to her.   She walked in to the interrogation room, As she spoke “You wanted to talk?” She asked, They had assumed he was the Doer due to him being the last one with seen with Bekah Mayfair, the last one who had seen her alive, but they had no proof, they needed him to talk. The young man spoke looking at the woman “Not about what you think” he said an eyebrow raise “You see 4 years ago you took something away from me, I had a brother, one I actually cared about, But You killed him…” Kyle had mentioned, He then looked at Lilly and said “..So I’m going to take away the thing you care about the most” Scotty looked at the man anger in his eyes, No one spoke to the woman he loved that way “Get out of here before I find a reason to lock you up!!” He yelled at him. To him and everyone else the possible Doer meant her job, They would not figure out the truth until it was too late.   ************************** A few hours had passed and they had gotten no where, Stillman had sent Scotty to interview another witness, and Lil was staring at her computer trying desperately to figure out what Kyle had meant, who had Scotty killed, and what did any of it have to do with the case or what she cared about the most, then it had dawned on her, Sure they hadn’t told the general public about their relationship or the fact that she was pregnant, but that didn’t mean people hadn’t figured It out, especially since she was beginning to storm a baby bump.   She rushed over to Stillman and felt the tears fall, she was shaking as she spoke “You.. You need to bring Scotty back here..” She said through tear stained eyes. Lt Stillman shook his head as he spoke “You know I am trying my best to accommodate the two of you but you know you can’t be together all the time..” He said , it wasn’t like Lilly to get frantic like this, she of all people understood what the job meant even if you were dating your partner. She looked at him again as she spoke “…No you don’t get it, The.. The Doer.. When he said he was going to get rid of the thing I care about the most, It wasn’t my Job, It was Scotty” She said.   LT Stillman couldn’t believe he hadn’t figured it all out before, it made perfect, sense, Not only had Scotty been the one who had taken Ed’s life 4 years prior to save Lilly’s life, He also was the one Lilly Rush had loved the most, He looked over at Vera and Jefferies calling them over “You two, see if you can find Valens , Lil I’m going to need you to stay here, lay low, This just got personal”   Lilly didn’t want to sit there idly doing nothing but She knew they were right, She gathered her things and headed for home, but before that she had tried to call him, every voice mail she left had fallen on deaf ears.   Vera had walked back in, walking past Lilly , he was trying to be as discreet as possible as he said to to their LT “Boss, we got a problem” He whispered “Valens car is still in the parking lot, He never left” Lilly had overheard what Vera had said and she became even more frantic then she had before “You have to find him… Please.. I can’t lose him, I won’t lose him!” She said.   They did their best to contain her fears, to calm her dawn “Lil, we’ve got our best men on this case, if someone knows something we’ll find out…” She shook her blonde locks as she spoke “..And what am I supposed to do .. just sit at home while some psychopath has it out for my boyfriend.. You know I can’t do that, you of all people know he’s more then just my partner Boss..” Vera spoke as he touched her “Rush, Just let us handle this…” She was going to so say more when Scotty walked in to the precinct, She rushed over and pulled him in to an embrace.   “Hey… What’s going on baby, what’s wrong?” He asked , He could tell she was upset about something , she was shaking and her face was red due the crying she had done. “Lil… Baby talk to me, is it the baby?”  He asked her worriedly. She shook her head as she looked at him “… Our Doer,  he.. he.. when he said he was going to take away the thing I care about the most, It… it wasn’t My job.. It.. It’s you…. Then no one could find you, your car was still here, I ..I thought the worst” She said staring at him. He was confused to say the least but in a way it made sense “.. that’s because I took yours, it was closer..” He said, He could see she was still upset, the tears were still in her eyes, She was still shaking, he held her close doing his best to calm her down “Lil.. It’s okay, I’m here” she frowned some more “for now.. but Kyle Norton.. He wants you dead, You were the one that killed his brother, and you’re the one I love the most” She was terrified of losing him.   A few hours had passed and Vera’s walked in speaking to Valens, Jefferies, Rush and Stillman “Ballistic’s just got back to me, They defused a bomb in your car, just like our Vic,… We got em..” He said proudly, then added “Jefferies is in the box with him right now” Valens shook his head as he said “No, let me at him” He said, he was angry, not because Kyle Norton had done near taken his life but because he had upset the woman he loved.   Not to much longer and Scotty Valens walked in to the interrogation room, Kyle Norton had stared at him a shocked expression on his face “What’s the matter Norton? think you seen a ghost? Surprise I’m alive.. you know why? Unlike you, I have people who care about me, your little plan to off me failed.” He began and then sat across from him “Now.. you’re going to start talking, it’s over man, tell me about how you Killed Bekah” He offered, it didn’t take long until Kyle Norton had confessed to what he’d done.   The Birth of an Angel   Disclaimer: I in no way shape or form own the rights to cold case or its characters, this is all just for fun. I know I did a birth of little Ashley drabble before but I found this gif and I had to use it soo here we go :) (also this one won’t be as sad as the last one I promise)   Lilly counted to ten as she breathed through her contraction, She frowned as she looked at her watch, They were coming closer now, the notion of doing this alone terrified her, Not that he wouldn’t be there if she called him, but unlike her He was working, She’d been on maternity leave for the last two months.   She looked down at her bulging stomach as she rested her hand on it, “You’ve been trouble since the day we found out about you little one” She said rubbing her hand back and forth, She breathed again as she continued to talk to her unborn baby who was clearly eager to come out and face the world “Listen to me Ashley, you’re not coming out until I get a hold of Daddy do you hear me” she said firmly, as if her child would listen, she was part Valens after all, and the fact that she was two weeks early had made that extremely apparent.   She had gotten in to her car and raced to the precinct, she doubted she’d make it in time all things considering, but she would be damned if she had this baby without him, She tried calling him hoping he’d somehow find her, they were detectives after all, but the stronger her contractions got the more she realised she needed to push, It was in the midst of one of those strong contractions that she realised she needed to call 9-1-1 “Mary Mother of God Kid!” She said as she gripped the steering wheel, hoping to god the ambulance would get there before her baby girl made her grand appearance.   After interviewing the prospective Doer and looking down at his phone Scotty Valens had seen all of the text messages and missed calls he had gotten from Lilly, He stared at the phone a little in shock for a few minutes before grabbing his phone and rushing out the door, he had no way of knowing where she was but fate would have a hand in finding her.   Stuck behind an ambulance Scotty had cursed a little until they pulled over, that was when he saw her SUV, He got out of his own car and raced to her side “Thank God I’m not to late” he offered as he moved her bangs out of her eyes and reached for her hand, The EMT”s didn’t question if he was the father because it was quite apparent that he had been just by the look on the woman’s face when she saw him. Lilly smiled up at him, thankful that he found her in time. “Hey” She said staring up at him, sometimes the simplest words was all that needed to be said, after all “hey” was their word. “Hey” he said back once again moving her hair from her eyes, He could tell she was scared so he rubbed his thumb back and forth on her hand “It’s okay baby we got this” He had a way of calming her down in any situation, child birth included. She closed her eyes for a brief moment in time until she felt another contraction “Son of a!!” She stared at him “I hate you!!” She screamed out.   The Paramedic had looked at the man and smiled a little “They all say that but I assure you she doesn’t” Lilly Looked at him as she spoke “Oh What do you know!” She spat out, Scotty didn’t mind so much that with each push she was squeezing his hand harder or that she was drawing blood all he cared about was her and the fact that he could already see a little blonde head “Baby…” he smiled kissing her head “She’s almost here” he offered, within in seconds a tiny cry had emanated from the night sky. The tiny infant handed to her mother.   Lilly felt slow tears fall from her eyes, she wasn’t sure if it was the emmense pain she had just felt or the fact that she was looking at her tiny newborn all she knew was extremely happy. Scotty grinned as he looked down at his perfect little family “she’s beautiful Lil” he offered kissing her head once again and then reaching down to kiss their daughters “She looks like you” he said, it had been true she was a perfect little angel that looked like her mother.   Lilly raised an eyebrow at him and sarcastically said “Yeah well she’s trouble like you” She was only half joking as she looked at him, God those puppy dog eyes of his making her heart race all over again , She noticed his hand and frowned “I…I drew blood” she offered as she reached for his hand kissing it gently. He reached for her lips and kissed her gently “Oh baby it was worth it” He offered , smiling. This had most definetly been the best Valentine’s day ever.   Stalked a cold case drabble Disclaimer:  As always I in no way , shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters, I do this for fun Spoiler alert: Moe Ketchner, “the thin blue line” and “In to the blue” of Season 6 are mentioned, This is my take on the aftermath of those eps and clearly Lilly and Scotty are an item. A Year and a half since she had been in an accident, ending up in the River due to Moe Ketchner, Lilly Rush  hadn’t thought much of it, She knew he was getting out of jail due to good behaviour and his clout in the military and she was doing her best to keep her mind off of it. It wasn’t that too difficult to do all things considering, not only had she still done her job as a Homicide Detective, she was now happily engaged to her partner, the man she perhaps had always loved from the day she met him, and she was 12 weeks pregnant. Scotty smiled a little at his beautiful Baby Momma, He knew she was deep in thought by the cute little forrowed brow she had, He wasn’t sure how he had gotten so lucky but he wasn’t complaining in the least bit “Boss wants us to talk to  Sylvi Banks, he has her waiting in interrogation, You ready?” He asked her as he kissed the nape of her neck, and let his hand rest on her growing baby bump , He stopped hiding how he felt a long time ago, and in fact he was glad to have everything out in the open now. Lilly nodded as she leaned in to him, God the smell of his aftershave had been intoxicating to her “Yeah, I was just looking in to Justin Keller’s financials, if he died Syvi would be getting all of his money” She offered, they both knew the woman in Interrogation was more then likely their Doer. As the days had gone on She had grown a bit more frightened, it was clear that since getting out of Jail   Moe had been stalking her, It was clear he had a problem with her, or even perhaps a problem with the fact that she was a woman in a Male dominated world, He left her voice messages, he followed her around, the Notion had terrified her, but she could handle herself or at least that had been what she thought until she reached her niece’s school one da and saw that damn SVU that had ran her off the road last year. What the hell was he doing here? Was he freaking stalking her whole damn family? What the hell did he want with her. She didn’t really want to get Scotty involved, because she knew how protective he had been, but This…This had gone to far for her “Scotty” she said in to her cell phone, She tried desperately to hide the fear in her voice “We got a problem” She said. Scotty could tell when she was scared, he knew her better then she knew herself, he also knew where she was due to the fact that they had temporary custody of her sister Christina’s daughter Ellie “just stay put okay Lil, I’ll be right there”. It wouldn’t take him much longer and he had found Lil outside of Ellie’s school, She was shivering, which had not been lost on him, he wrapped his arms around her, in a way it had calmed her down “Talk to me Lil, what’s going on?” She sat there a crumpled mess as she spoke “He..he was here.. He’s been following me.. he.. he’s been following us” She would never admit it to any one else but him but Moe Ketchner terrified her. “Why didn’t you tell me before?” He asked her, by the look on her face he knew this had to have gone on for awhile “Because… I know you.. I know how protective you are, of me. Of our baby, of Ellie.. I know what you’d do, and  I’d feel horrible if you lost your job because of me, plus work wouldn’t be the same without you in it” She said half teasingly.   He held her hand kissing it gently “What he’s doing isn’t right baby? But okay we do this the right way? We get a restraining order, make sure he doesn’t come near you or our family” He said softly as he kissed her lips ******   The Proposal  (For a life time) Disclaimer: As always I in no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters, this is all for fun I realised I Never did a Proposal drabble (I know I Did one in other fan fic’s but not  in an actual drabble) So here you go, Enjoy Lilly Rush had paced the floor of her home , they both had gotten off of work at the same time, she wasn’t sure why he was late, but the notion of losing him terrified her, She knew that he told her he wasn’t going to leave her, That they could raise their baby together, but most men in her life had left her all alone , why would he be any different. She felt a slow tear down her face when she finally sat down on her couch. It wouldn’t be long when she heard the front door open, She slid her hand across her still small stomach, No one knew about the two of them yet but even she knew they couldn’t keep their secret love affair a secret for long, especially now that. she was pregnant,  She looked up when she saw him “You’re late” she said wiping a tear, Scotty Valens looked at her, God she was beautiful, He knew what he was about to do was the right choice, something he should have done a long time ago “I know.. I’m sorry, I got caught up” She looked up at him as she said “Caught up with what?, You stepping out on me Scotty Valens?” She offered half teasingly. He looked her, that grin on his face making her heart rush even faster “Lilly” He began, the mere fact that he called her by her actual name and not Lil, the notion had terrified her, that was until he got down on one knee and held her hand “Wha… What are you doing?” She asked him. He was beaming now as he continued “What I should have done a long time ago” He answered, he drew in a breath as he continued to speak even more “Lil, I love you, maybe I always have…” She cut him off by saying “Sure Scotty that’s why you dated my sister when Elisa died” he smiled that damn grin of his as he said “I only dated her because she was the closest thing to you I could get, I honestly didn’t think you liked me that way.. not at first” She stared at him again as she said “But I did Scotty, I do.. I..m sorry I didn’t… tell.. you sooner..”  He shook his head as he said “let me finish.. I need to do this” He said, his words had scared her a little “Scotty, you’re scaring me, do what?” She asked him. He then took out the ring box from his pocket open it up as he gazed in to her eyes, To say she was shocked was an understatement, She Knew he wasn’t asking her because she was pregnant, because she had known they were in love, She knew she hadn’t felt this way about anyone before (and she had many other boyfriends), and he has been the only one who had ever been there for her, still there was that fear in the back of her mind,  here he was proposing to her. “Scotty??” She asked her heart racing. He was smiling and gazing into her eyes even more “Lillian Elizabeth  Rush, Will you marry me?” He asked. She smiled again, her heart racing rapidly “You.. you’re not asking me because you got me pregnant?” She asked him. He smiled that grin that gripped her heart from the day she met him “Lil, it’s the 21 century I’m pretty sure we can raise a child together without marriage..” He said teasingly, He held her hand and gazed in to her eyes once again “I’m asking you because I love you, I’ve always loved you” He repeated. She beamed looking back at him as she answered him, slow tears falling from her eyes “Yes.. Yes I’ll marry you” She said as she reached up to kiss him. *********   The morning After Disclaimer: I in no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters but I am a huge Scotty and Lilly shipper so there is that :)     Lilly Rush had heard her alarm go off , just like any other day, But today… Today was different, She bit her lower lip and moaned a little as she rolled herself over, reaching for the Snooze button. She could still smell the scent of his after shave on her bed, her heart was racing. A part of her assumed he left just like every other man (Including her father) Had in her life time, but he wasn’t like that, Scotty Valens was the one man who was always there, Maybe that was why she fell so hard, He was there for her, case in point just the other night when they drove to New Jersey to get Christina back, Given his history with Christina he didn’t have to help her but he did , and judging by the love they made the night before he did it because he loved her.   She slowly got up out of bed following the scent of the food emanating from her Kitchen, Another indication that he never left. She stood there for a minute watching him God he was so sexy! Standing there with only his shirt on, certainly at home in her kitchen as if he belonged there, She always knew he was a handsome man, if she were to be honest she would admit to being in love with him since the day he walked in to the 16th Precinct when he replaced her first partner Chris Lansing, but she hid it, she wasn’t even sure if she could date him, there had to be some sort of rule against it with in the precinct, but now.. Now she didn’t give a damn and she knew he didn’t either. “Hey” She said simply , it was a simple word but it worked for them, it meant so much.   Scotty Grinned when he heard her, Last night was like a dream come true to him, She wasn’t one to open up to anyone but when she admitted that she loved him as much as he loved her, he was by no means surprised in the least . She was beautiful standing there, In his eyes she was always beautiful but right then and there, she was glowing, and he knew it was because of him, because they made love the night before and She was a woman in love“Good Morning Beautiful” He said, She had this look of shock on her face though he wasn’t sure why until she spoke “You.. You stayed” She questioned him, He inched closer wrapping his arms around her and gazing in to his eyes “Of course I stayed, I love you Lil, Maybe I always have, I promise I ain’t going anywhere” He said as he kissed he softly. She kissed him back smiling as she spoke “I. I know… Its just every other guy..” He rubbed her arms speaking again “I’m not every other guy Lil..You know that” He offered, He truly would give his life for her. He was gazing in to her eyes as he said “I made us breakfast… Ya hungry?” He asked. She nodded as she said “Yeah… It smells delicious” She said. He made her a plate and lead her to the table “So I was thinking, maybe we should go visit your sister later after work” He said, They had dropped Christina off at a hospital where they would heal her, She wasn’t sure what would happen after but she had to assume Chris would put herself in Re hab and if so, She knew Chris had asked her to watch her baby but could she? Maybe if Scotty helped but could she even ask him that. She looked back at him “Yeah, I.. I just worry about her you know” Scotty reached for her hand as he said “She’ll be alright, She’s trying Lil, She reached out for you, that stands for something” She squeezed his hand as she said “Yeah but.. She.. she has a kid.. She wants me to..? I don’t know if I can… I’m not cut out to be any one’s mom” She said gazing in to his eyes, Neither knew at the time that she herself had begun to grew a life due to the love they made the night before, not yet anyway. Scotty kissed her softly “I’ll help you with that, but I promise you’ll do better then you think” He said.   She looked at him again, her heart was racing just by the way he was looking at her, how caring he had been, How was she ever going to keep their relationship out of the job, She wasn’t sure she could, She was certain they would see it in her eyes, but for now she was going to enjoy the morning after. ************************   Valentines Gift Disclaimer: as always I do not own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters, I am just but a humble Scotty and Lilly Shipper, that is even more of a shipper after watching the Series finale! Also yet another birth drabble due to a Gif I found.. MY WP who writes as Scotty will get what I mean LOL Lilly Valens (nee’ Rush) had not thought anything of it at first, they weren’t very frequent and she wasn’t really due for another two weeks, She was laying in bed her swollen belly covered by a sole blanket given how hot she was. In truth she didn’t really want to take a maternity leave, She wanted to be with him, sure her partner Scotty had gotten her pregnant but  at the end of the day they were still homicide detectives, people still needed justice., but now as big as she had become, she was sort of glad that her OB forced her on one. “Aunt Wiw” She heard her niece call for her, causing her to slowly get up out of bed“I’..s Hungwy” the young child said, Lilly could just picture her pouty little face as she said “When Unca Sotty dumming home?” She heard her question, everyone in the house knew Lilly couldn’t cook, it was something she was teased about often. She shook her head as she made her way to where the youngest Rush sat playing with her doll “How about I make you some PB&J I think I can handle that” She said. She was watching as Ellie sat making her dolly talk while she was watching a cartoon, She herself frowning a little when she felt another contraction , was this really happening now? She looked at her watch, 4 and a half minutes, that couldn’t be good, She wasn’t about to show Ellie that she was in that much pain, She didn’t want to scare her after all she had been through with her Mom and Dad. So she waited for the contraction to pass then walked over to her little niece “Here you go Baby girl, why don’t you go eat it in your room, go play with your dollhouse” She said, as she watched the little girl saunter off with a look on her face that meant confusion and fear She had sent a text to Scotty, All it had said was “It’s time” He was in the middle of a conversation with another colleague, someone who was working the case with them when he saw  Lilly’s text, he knew she was scared, and if he were to be honest He would say he was to but they were prepared for this, they read all the books, watched all the videos, took all the classes, this was why a smile crossed his face “I…I gotta go” He offered “It’s baby time” He was beaming, He turned to Kat as he spoke “I’m gonna need you to come with me, take Ellie” He offered , grabbing his jacket the two of of them rushed out of the precinct and back to the home they shared. “Lilly” He called out to her, He raced in doors wondering where she may be, “Lil” he said again, he was worried, what if he got there to late and she was already at the hospital, doing this without him, the fear had been very real, that had been when he saw her, bent over the chair in the dining room, breathing. “Hey” He said as he moved her hair away from her eyes “How far apart are they?” He asked her. She reached for his hand as she spoke “4 and a half minutes…Ellie.. Ellie’s in  her room.. I think I.. scared her” She said, He put his arms around her middle as he spoke “I’m sure she’ll be okay, but let’s get you to the hospital.” He wrapped his jacket around her and tried to lead her to the door “Kat will stay here with El? ” He questioned their friend. Lilly was still breathing when she looked up at him, she was in so much pain but God he was being so sweet, so caring “I…I can’t do this Scotty” It wasn’t so much the fear of giving birth, but the fear of becoming a parent, sure they had Ellie but this was different, this one was there’s. He could see the fear in her eyes as he said “yes you can Lil, You’re the strongest woman I know, I get you’re scared.. I’m not gonna lie I’m scared too but Lil… We got this” She shook her head as he lead her to the car “No, I… what if… My ..My mom was a bad mom, Chris wasn’t any good either… what if I..” She frowned looking at him , he looked at her as he got her in to the passenger side of the car “You’re different Lil, You’re already a good mom, and you’re not alone, I’m not gonna go anywhere” He said kissing her softly “I Love you” He whispered, “I love you tooooo” She said in the midst of a very strong contraction. He looked at his watch, realising their baby girl wasn’t going to let them make it to the hospital “Lil” He began as he repositioned her so she was laying down now “Ashley isn’t gonna wait” He said removing her clothing “I’m going to need you to start pushing”He offered, but not before calling an ambulance It wasn’t to long after that he heard a tiny little cry coming from the car, he stripped his shirt off of his body and wrapped their daughter in it. He was grinning from ear to ear as he looked down at her, She was just as beautiful as her mother “She’s perfect” He said ,adding “She looks like you” He laid the tiny newborn on top of her mother and smiled even more, admiring his new little family. It would not be long when the EMT’s had arrived, but even they knew not to mess with a happy little family, allowing them a moment alone before they checked mother and daughter. Yes it was the best Valentine’s day ever.   The Wedding Disclaimer: I in no shape way or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters Also sorry if this sucks, I kind of came up with this on the fly:   August 27th It was a special day for Lilly Rush, She was marrying the only man she loved, the one who cared and protected her, He may have started off just being her work partner but now.. Now they were so much more then that. They were parents to be and today.. Today they were to become Husband and wife. The morning had started off quite early, She had been staying with her Dad and Step Mom ,getting ready for her nuptials. She wasn’t used to a mom who actually gave a damn about her, so having her there was a bit odd “Trust me Lilly..” Celeste began as she brushed Lilly’s long blonde locks “By the time I’m through , your hair will look amazing”Celeste smiled as smiled at her step daughter. Hearing about her had thrown her for a loop, but she had welcomed her in to the family with open arms, it had been an added bonus for the elder woman to learn that her son Finn had gotten quite close to his half sister. Lilly smiled back as she spoke “I don’t know how to re pay you” Celeste chuckled “For what? You’re family, no different then Maggie and Finn, this is your day and it’s my job to make sure it runs smoothly” She said. A few short hours later Lilly had been standing there waiting for the wedding march to begin, Her best friend Kat gazed towards her, she really did look amazing, She was beaming and she knew it was more then just the pregnancy “You look amazing Lil, you’re glowing” Lilly had looked back at her “Thanks Kat, I am so happy, I know it sounds crazy but today really is the best moment of my life” Kat shook her head as she looked over at her“I really am happy for you, but I swear if he hurts you I will come after him” She said only half jokingly, causing Lilly to chuckle a little. The music had begun and she watched as Kat walked towards the front of the chapel where their priest had been none other then Lt Stillman’s brother.   One by one her bride’s maids had gone to the front until it had been just her and her Dad left, When she lost her mother she never imagined coming in to contact with her father again, but she was glad she had found him when she had, She was glad to have found more family. She drew in a breath when she heard the wedding march began, She was nervous but it was a happy sort of nervous, one that would change her life forever. “Ready Lilly?” Her Dad had asked her. “As ready as I’ll ever be” she answered him. She slowly walked up to the aisle straight to the man she loved , He was standing there looking extremely handsome in his tux smiling from ear to ear. “Hey” She simply said , “Hey” he said beaming back, She took his hand and watched as her dad said “She’s all yours now, be good to her, be a better man then I was” Paul Cooper said as he took his seat in the front. Scotty couldn’t stop grinning as he held Lilly’s hand, rubbing it back and forth with his finger, God she looked so gorgeous in that dress, He hadn’t seen it until that very moment, She had a bump now but she hid it well with the dress, not that it mattered to him, He was elated that he was going to be a father, and now, now he was going to be a husband. He couldn’t stop grinning as he heard Brother Stillman speak “We are gathered here today to enter Scott Matthew Valens and Lillian Elizabeth Rush in to holy matrimony, If there is anyone here to attest to this wedding speak now or forever hold your peace” , Both had drew in their breath , half worried that one of their exes would speak up, thankfully that was not the case. Brother Stillman had spoke again , staring at the two he had counceled a bit before the nuptials , He had known they were made for each other from the meetings he had with them but also due to what he had heard from his brother “Do you Scotty Valens take Lillian Rush to be your wife?” He asked him. Scotty couldn’t stop beaming as he said “I do”, Brother Stillman spoke again as he focused on Lilly “..And do you Lillian Rush take Scotty Valens to be your husband?” She smiled just as broadly as she said “I do”. The two had opted for writing their own vows so that was what they had done, beginning with Scotty “Lilly” He began gazing in to her big blue eyes that he had loved so much “from the moment we met I knew, I knew you were the one I needed to be with…” She felt slow tears coming down her eyes, but these.. these were happy tears, She listened as he continued reciting the rest of his vows It had been her turn to recite her vows, It was much like his own, mentioning how she felt when she met him, How she knew he was the one, how he changed her life forever, After she was done speaking their was not a dry eye in the congregation.  After the Vows were said He slid the ring on her finger, then she placed the ring on his. They had been in their own little world when Brother Stillman spoke again “By the power invested in me  by the state of Pennsylvania ,I now pronounce you husband and wife,  you may kiss your bride” He said turning to Scotty. Scotty Valens leaned in to kiss his beautiful wife. Brother Stillman had turned to the family and friends of the two and spoke “I am proud to introduce you to Mr and Mrs Scotty Valens” It was with that the two walked down the aisle, Now a happily married couple.   Cold Case Reboot Part 1: Disclaimer: I in no way, shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters, this is just my idea of how I feel the reboot would go down if we got one.     Lilly had leaned against the boxes of Cold Cases biting her lower lip, She couldn’t believe she had done this job for as long as she had, She certainly was not complaining, The Job had given her so much happiness. She had a messed up life before him, Men had come and gone including her father, her mother had been an alcoholic leaving her to fend for herself and her little sister Christina, due to that life she had always been terrified of settling down, maybe that had been why she was so closed off, so afraid to tell him how she felt, But she finally had when he helped her save Chris from a very abusive relationship. Now so many years later they were a couple, married, partners for life with two beautiful little girls; 11 year old Ashley who looked very much like her mother and 9 year old Iris who looked a great deal like her father.   Lil was such in a deep thought about her family, those she loved when their LT had walked in, She knew what he was going to ask of her and she knew her answer, This Serial had killed for many years starting in 1980 , he needed to be stopped, She was exactly his type, She wanted.. no needed to be the one to take him down. “I know this is a lot to ask of you Rush…” Sure she had married her partner but she was still Detective Rush at work, less confusing to witnesses and possible doers. “But you are the type of woman James Benjamin goes after, married mother , career woman, smart.. I need you to go under cover..” She looked at him and nodded “I want to do this.. I want to help any way I can” She knew he wasn’t going to like it , he would protest but he had to know why she had to.. What if it was one of their girls who turned up dead due to a serial killer.     A few moments later and Scotty Valens had entered the building, He and Vera had been questioning witnesses out in the field , it was Kat who mentioned what would go down that way “Valens… Will you knock some sense in to that woman of yours?.. She wants to go under cover .. to take down Benjamin..” She began all he had said was “Oh Hell no” He found Lil preparing for the uncover stint, putting on a wire among other things. “So its true then?” He asked her. She looked up at him after all this time her heart still raced when she saw him “Scotty, You know I have to do this.. Those Parents.. of those girls.. They deserve justice, … they deserve answers.. God .. what if it was Ashley or Iris?” She asked him.   He gently took her by the arm and said with a sigh “Lilly what if something happens to you” She knew he meant business because he only called her by her actual name when he was upset or worried about her, most of the time he had just called her Lil. “Scotty, I’ll be fine, I’m wearing a wire, if I need you I’ll just say Hey” she said, it was their co word from every since she could remember. He shook his head staring at her worriedly “This isn’t a joke Lilly, I’m being serious, I can’t lose you” He said. She shook her head “So am I Scotty, I’m not trying to be funny, if something happens , you’re the only one I want to come to my rescue… you’re my hero” She offered, she had meant it, The fact that he protected her at all costs, had saved her life on several occasions had been one of many reasons why she had fallen so deeply for him. She reached up to kiss him softly and said “I’ll be okay, don’t worry okay” She offered again   He kissed her back and added “Don’t worry??!! Lilly I always worry … Just.. promise if it all goes wrong out there you really will call me” He said. He kissed her one more time when Lt Stillman looked at the two “ready Lil?” He asked as she nodded as she followed Stillman out the door, Scotty watched as she turned her back.   Coffee house, Awkwardness and old partners: Disclaimer: I in no way own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters. Side Note: Chris Lansing is played by Justin Chambers, He really was Lilly’s first Partner before Scotty for the first 5 episodes of Season 1 Lilly Valens (Nee Rush) Had been sitting at the Starbucks near the 16th Precinct, The smell of coffee most certainly getting to her, She eyed Scotty as he had drank his cup of coffee. She gave him a look as she spoke “You know that’s not really fair baby” she offered as she stirred her tea with the stir sick, She was never one for the drink but being 18 weeks pregnant now meant that she had a limited intake of Coffee. Scotty grinned at his wife, God her baby bump was so adorable, He truly was a lucky man, being transferred so long ago had been the best thing that had ever happened to him, if he hadn’t he wouldn’t have ever met her, sure she was his partner at first but now she was so much more then that “Tell you what I’ll get you a Pumpkin Muffin ,will that suffice?” He asked her, He knew not getting her coffee was difficult on her so he did his best to accommodate to her where he could. She nodded with a shrug “I guess” She said half teasingly. As he walked towards the counter She had looked down at the file they had brought with them, this was their lunch break and per usual they were working on a cold case, After all Lilly wanted answers, she wanted to know who their doer had been and they had been working a serial. She smiled a little as her unborn baby girl had kicked from with in her, it was as though Baby “Guppy” as Lilly called her baby was telling her it would be okay, and she knew in the long run it would all be worth it. Chris Lansing had been sitting near by , he had a rare day off, he had been transferred due to the fact that he and his own wife had been expecting their own child, and with his diabetes the long hours in homicide was just too difficult, that had been years ago however and now his hours were just as bad as they had been in homicide. He was sitting there with his wife when he saw her, At first he didn’t think it truly could have been Lilly Rush, after all she wasn’t the starting a family , domesticated type, and the woman was very clearly pregnant, at least 4 months maybe even more, However when she repositioned herself in her chair and moved some of her hair behind her ear, he knew instantly. “Chris… are you even listening?” His wife asked him. He shook his head “Sorry, Yeah, You had a bad day… your co worker got a raise and you didn’t…” he repeated, then shook his head“I’m sorry if I’m not all here Annabelle,… But I… I think that’s Rush… Which is weird since Rush never wanted a family of her own” His wife nodded as she spoke “People change..” She was going to say more when her husband had gotten up and walked towards his former partner. “Lilly?” He had asked as he looked at the woman. Lilly had looked up from the file in front of her only to see her former partner standing there “Chris.. Wow it’s been awhile, How are you?” She asked, He shook his head and laughed a bit “I’ve been good, just busy, working to keep the diabetes under control, as well as taking care of Annabelle and Cheyenne” He stated, he grinned looking at her baby bump “but clearly you’ve been well, I never thought I’d see the day…” he mentioned looking at her Bump. She smiled as she saw Scotty walking back over with her muffin. It was quite clear she was in love. Chris continued to speak, his curiosity getting the better of him “So who managed to Domesticate Lilly Rush?” He asked using the tone of voice he usually on reserved for people he interrogated , The man who walked over looked at him and spoke “That would be me” Scotty said grinning a bit. Lilly took the Muffin from his hands and leaned up on to him “Chris, this is my husband Scotty Valens.. Scotty this is Chris Lansing” Chris looked at Scotty, he had a quizzical look upon his face, that name had certain sounded familiar and then he realised why “Wait.. Valens.. Aren’t you the one who replaced me when I left” Scotty nodded as he put his hand on Lilly’s baby bump “Yes…” he began in an awkward tone “but being transferred from narcotics that day.. Was the best thing that ever happened to me, because it lead me to Lil, I am definetly not complaining due to the fact that I got the girl” He offered still smiling. Chris grinned at the two of them, He truly was happy for Lilly, when he knew her she was such a mess, so sad but now…now it was if she was a whole other person, someone who clearly loved life, He knew being with Scotty Valens was something she truly needed.   The End.   Sweet little Baby Girl   Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Cold Case nor do I own it’s characters, I’m just a humble Scotty and Lilly shipper who loves to write Authors note: This takes place a few months after their baby girl (Ashley) Is born, I do realise on the episode the Gif came from its a baby boy but let’s pretend it’s a little girl okay.   It wasn’t often that Lilly Valens (Nee Rush)  had brought her young infant daughter to work with her, there were just some things she didn’t want her three month old to see, however due to her child care center being closed on this particular day and her in laws were unavailable , She had to do just that, not that it had truly mattered everyone loved Baby Ashley, she was the cutest little baby girl who everyone needed to spoil.   Scotty watched as his two girls, he had no idea how he got so lucky, he had to admit he was in love with Lilly since the day he met her, he never thought he truly would have a shot with her but after he helped her rescue her sister from an abusive relationship she confessed her love for him it wasn’t to long after they conceived their beautiful girl, who now lay in her car seat half asleep on her mother’s desk., His thoughts were broken when their boss walked over to his desk “Valens, Miller found some information on our victims next of kin, 1982 was a long time ago, the mother is deceased but there is a sister living here in town, You and she will question her, here’s the address” he mentioned.   He took the piece of paper then walked over to his wife and kissed her head “Don’t go solving this case with out me” He said teasingly “I’ll be back soon” He then kissed his baby girl’s forehead and said “You be good for Mommy” He smiled as Ashley gave off a tiny little coo. He then walked out of the precinct to aid Miller in questioning their victim’s sister.   Lilly had briefly gotten up to use the rest room, She didn’t truly think anything of it, after all there were plenty of people who could keep an eye on her daughter, their boss being one of them and his office had not been that far away. The young infant had begun to cry, not so much because her mommy and daddy had not been near her but due to the fact that she was quite tired. It was Vera who would notice this first    “Where is your Mommy and Daddy huh?” He asked as he lifted up Ashley in his arms “what’s the matter” He noticed the infant yawn and rub her little eyes “You tired? I Know the perfect place.. Don’t tell your mommy and Daddy but sometimes when Uncle Nick gets to tired I go in there just to rest my eyes” He said teasingly. He had lifted her up and took her to the quiet interrogation room, watching as Ashley Valens had fallen asleep in his arms.   A tiny rush of panic had ran through Lilly’s body when she saw the empty car seat at her desk, where the hell was her baby girl, She had to assume she was safe, that fear had simmered a great deal when she noticed Vera’s desk was empty as well, She knew he used the interrogation room for other then interrogating suspects , even though he thought no one knew, they did. She opened the door and raised an eyebrow looking at him “What are you doing with my baby?” She offered in a teasing manner. Vera shrugged as he spoke “She was tired and you know we love to spoil you and Scotty’s sweet baby girl whenever we can” She nodded and said “I do, but we are going to need this room here shortly and I think I’ve got it from here” she stated as she pulled out her babies pacifier and took her in her own arms, She never thought she would have a family of her own but it was clear she loved them so much and she truly had a sweet baby girl.   The end   The Bones in the Cold Case (A Bones and Cold Case Cross over Event) Disclaimer: I in no way shape or form own the rights to either shows, or it’s characters, I am just slightly obsessed with Bones and Cold case as well as a major Scotty/Lilly and Booth/Brennan shipper at any rate enjoy the fan fic   Lilly had been holding Scotty’s hand as they entered The Jeffersonian, She was a bit in awe as she looked around the two of them, It was much bigger and more elaborate then their work office , Her thoughts had been interrupted as a dark skinned woman had walked toward’s them her hand out kindly “You two must be Rush and Valens from the 16th Precinct in Philadelphia, I’m Angela Hodgkins” The other woman replied.   Lilly nodded as she felt Scotty’s arm slowly rub the small of her back, She was 20 weeks pregnant now so they were no longer hiding their relationship or the fact that they had been married, Still she had felt a little self conscious at that moment, Not so much that he was so inadvertently showing his affection but that she was clearly pregnant “Nice to meet you, I’m.. yes I’m Detective Rush, this is Detective Valens” She stated. She then bit her lip as she added “I was under the impression that we were going to meet with Dr Brennan and Agent Booth” she would never admit it but she was a huge fan of Dr Brennan and her books.   Angela nodded as she spoke “You will soon, they are at a scene right now, they asked me to show you two around” Scotty nodded as he looked at her “You do have nice set up here, much bigger then the 16th Precinct” He said smiling. Angela smiled at the man, he was quite handsome but she knew he was off limits, for one it was clear he was with the woman the other woman, that they were more then just work  partners, but for two she herself had been married to Jack Hodgkins. “So there is something you should know about Booth and Brennan” She began “Brennan, She’s quite smart but you know the job and all that…. Booth, he’s a little protective of her, mainly because they are married, but he’s always been like that even before the marriage” She said , though she was always happy for her best friend.   Scotty smiled at Lilly, then his eyes shifted to her growing baby bump “that shouldn’t be a problem, so are we, and I know all about protecting the ones you love” He offered. Angela chuckled a bit as she said “I could see that about you two.. but I digress. Let me take you to the platform so you can see the body we found, the one we think might connect to the case you two are working on” she offered as she got out her card placing it on the machine and taking the guest’s up to where the body had been.   “This is my husband Jack, he’s the general bug guy..” She began then turned to Hodgkins as she said “These two are the Philadelphia team” she winked letting him know they were an item. He smirked a little as he said “I found a Spotted Latern fly near the bones, which lead me to the fact that this particular body comes from your neck of the woods” He said. Angela had turned to see Booth and Brennan walk in.. “These two will have more info on your bones” she said as she finally said “Booth.. Brennan.. these two are Valens and Rush from Philly” She said   “It’s a pleasure to meet you” Lilly said, she tried her best not to fan girl but seeing Dr Temperance Brennan in the flesh had made it difficult for her. Scotty smiled at his lovely wife , as he spoke “What my lovely wife means is we are grateful for all the help with the case” He said teasingly. Brennan raised an eyebrow but she of all people knew that two heads were better then one so to speak. Booth spoke as he looked at the two, they reminded him of a much younger version of he and Bones “I hope the drive wasn’t to bad.” Scotty shook his head “It was fine” he simply stated, It was Brennan who spoke up next “Let’s get back to the case here guys, How about you two tell us what you have”   Lilly nodded and blushed a bit as she spoke , she had gotten her notes as she said “Our first victim was 15 year old Becky Mayfair, found in the woods outside her home near the Scaugin.., She was went missing in 1988, She lead us to our next body from 1972 , a Shayna Phillips, No known connection, Cause of death’s quite different then Becky’s, she was found in Kensington in an old abandoned apartment Building.. That lead us to you two , finding this body…” She offered   Brennan’s face broke in to a smile, clearly these two knew what they were doing and had truly been top of their field “.. This is Kendall Christians, She was dumped in an old well, Found a Gun Shot wound on her upper chest region, Which would be cause of death..” She trailed. Lilly flipped opened her book and then said “ah yes, Kendall Christians went missing in 1954 at the age of 18..  Last seen with  her ex George Moore.. We are definitely looking at a Serial here” She said with a sigh Part Three:   Bones nodded as she looked over at the men and spoke “We may have just also figured out the cause of death” She said , She was looking over at the bones “See the lines here on the bones, they are stab wounds” Scotty raised an eyebrow as he spoke “ but that wouldn’t cause a death though right?” Temperance nodded as she spoke “In truth it can be, you see how close to the chest that is, it could have pierced the heart causing a fatal death but I will have Angela do a few scenario’s in the Angelator..” She began.   Lilly raised as she herself spoke “Angelator?” She asked her, Booth giggled as he spoke “Oh you two will love it, and honestly Angela is amazing” Lilly nodded as she said “Oh we’ve met, she seems nice” She grinned a bit more when she felt her unborn baby move around within her, slowly rubbing her hand across her stomach.   It had been not to long later when they entered Angela’s office “Based upon the scenarios I have given you Ang what did you come up with?” Bone’s had asked her.   Lilly and Scotty had just stood there in shock and awe staring at the machine in front of them “Nice toy!” Scotty said, as he turned to Lilly “do you think Boss would buy us an Angelator” He said half teasingly, Lilly shook her head saying “Would it be an Angelator if we had one? Wouldn’t it be a LiLator” She teased right back.   Angela shook her head at the two  of them as she said “I would love to give you one but this is the Original and so far the only..” She then turned to Bones saying “and to answer your Question “Your Perp has to be close, this is a crime of passion, he stabs them right through the heart” Lilly nodded as she watched Angela work the scenarios in to her machine, “can that thing detect if there’s signs of rape or other sexual trauma? Yes I know clearly some of this won't fit with the shows cannon but we'll just pretend some of it never happened, That being said ot fit a few story lines I had I've changed Lilly and Scotty's ages, Also here is other Info included: Lillian Elizabeth Rush (Goes by Lilly or Lil if you're special)  Born January 28th 1995 (we. have her 27 , will be 28) Fiancee' : Scotty Matthew Valens Born April 15th 1998 (He's 25) The two will be married August 27th 2022  Children: Daughter: (Lilly is currently pregnant with) Ashley Claire Valens Born Valentines Day 2023 (was due in mid Feb but she is two weeks early) two years after Ashley is born they have another daughter: Iris Beth Valens The two also get temporary custody of Lilly's niece Eleanor (Ellie) Lillian Rush who is 2 years old when they get her. My Cold Case/Scotty and Lilly time line Rather then Scotty ending up with ADA Alex and Lilly ending up with Eddie Saccardo , Lilly and Scotty end up together shortly after she was shot (Season 4 Episode 24, Refer to my Drabble) they keep it a secret though She calls him after her accident (Season 6 Episode 23 I believe) also asks him to help her get Christina back (Series Finale Season 7) The two deal with Christina (and her daughter) together, he just never leaves Lil’s home He plans a proposal with the help of his brother, Vera and Jeffries Lil discovers her pregnancy The rest is listed above previously 0 Comments  Report Post 06/11/2022 06:45 PM  Cold Case dabbles Current mood:  inspired Least Expected By Melissa Disclaimer: In no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case , it’s characters or the actors that play them, this is all just for fun, I will return Kathryn Morris and Danny Pino back where I found them when I’m done.       Lilly’s hand’s had been shaking when she took the test that now lay on her  bathroom sink, a part of her was terrified to look at the outcome, Did she love him? More then she was willing to admit, but they weren’t planning on this, after all he was a player, just having “Fun” She doubted he truly loved him. She was still shaking when the little plus sign emerged, somehow she ended up a crumpled mess on the bathroom floor, That had been until she heard his voice “Lil? You in here?, You okay?” He asked. It’s just something I ate” She very easily lied to him, he knew better though, there was something wrong and the fear of losing her terrified him. “Lil don’t lie to me, there’s something wrong, I know it..” “Just go Scotty” She said angrily at him , She tried to hide the tears from her eyes but that was near impossible, instead she looked away, She found  a seat on her couch.   “No Lil , talk to me, please” He all but practically begged, the last time they fought like this was when she found out he slept with Christina, the thing was he never wanted Christina, All she was to him was a substitute for the woman he really wanted, the one who was shoving him away at this very moment, He knew he wanted Lilly Rush from the day he met her.   “Just go!” She yelled again, Shoving Men away when it got to difficult was all she knew how to do, she did it with Kite and now she was doing it to Scotty. Scotty put his hand on her shoulder, reaching down to her level “Lil”   “None of this matters! You said so yourself, we’re just messing around!.. Having Fun!” She yelled at him, it was something he drilled in her from the first time they slept together, the thing was it wasn’t like that for her. “Just Go!!”   He got up slowly turning to leave “if.. If that’s what you want” He said sadly as he turned for the door as he walked away he heard her sobbing, maybe it was the fact that he knew she was crying , maybe it was the beating of his heart but he turned back around “the thing is Lil, I don’t want to leave, and I know you don’t really want me to, something is going on here, something you’ don’t want to tell me…” He said, he was going to say more but he was interrupted by her next words   “I’m Pregnant” she blurted out, looking at him through tear stained eyes   “Yeah?” He asked her, suddenly it all made sense, the mood swings, the fact that even right then and there she was afraid to look him in the eyes, but the thing was he wanted this baby, More then she could ever know.   She nodded her head as she took his hand and led him to the bathroom, His worried frown turned in to that of a bright smile “is it mine?” He said jokingly, of course he knew it was, all things considering, but all he wanted was to see her smile again.   She playfully swatted at him as she spoke “No, it’s Vera’s!! Yes its yours moron!” She said, He kissed her softly as he said “there’s my girl’s smile” he said as he rubbed his hand on her still think belly “I love you Lil..” He softly said then reached down to kiss her Belly “and you too little one” he stated, he knew this was the start of the rest of their lives. Her face turned in to a smile, any ordinary day at this precinct was filled with sadness, after all Her and the Baby Daddy were Homicide Detectives, specialising in cold cases, All they saw was death, today was different though.   Earlier that Morning her and Scotty had seen her OBGYN, it was a regular occurrence sense she found out she was pregnant but today was different, today they were going to find out what they were having, She giggled a little as she remembered that happy little smirk on Scotty’s face when they found out they were having a girl, she knew he would spoil her and somehow she was okay with that, her daughter.. no their daughter; would have a much better life then her and Christina had.   They ended up with a Cold Job the moment they walked through the door which was to no surprise given what they did for a living, at this moment in time Scotty had been with Vera and Lt Stillman pounding the pavement so to speak, She and Jeffries were to locate their vic’s next of kin, She turned to see Jeffries on his computer looking to do just that. “Lil, I think I got something” He said as he waved her over, She clearly was off in another dimension though “Huh,.. Oh yeah” She said as she put the ultrasound back down “Our Vic kinda looks like this Missing person right?” He asked as he pointed to the screen . She answered him as she said “yeah give or take a few years”   A Few more hours had passed and it was the end of their day, Lilly had ended up back at her desk once again staring at her blip. That had been when Scotty walked over “what cha looking at Lil?” He offered his arms wrapping around her “you know looking at the case file right now ain’t healthy” he offered, She leaned her head against his chest, She loved how protective he was right now, “who says I’m looking at the case file” she said as she sighed dreamily, his lips reached for her neck the action had made her heart rush “Scotty we’re working” She said with a teenage giggle , He shook his head “So, Ain’t a person here that doesn’t know we’re a thing, and there isn’t really any hiding that anymore” He said as his hands rubbed her growing bump ,something about the action had made Lilly feel something, it almost felt like.. well a kick.. the action had made her grow quiet   Scotty hadn’t felt it not at first, all he knew was the moment he touched her she got quiet, the action scared him “Lil? You okay?” He asked her. She waited a few moments wondering  if it would happen again “Did.. Did you feel that?” She asked him “Feel what?” He asked. She repositioned his hand “right there, that” She said grinning, as she turned around to face him , the grin on his face said it all “Is that??” He bent down to kiss her belly “Well hello there Baby girl, You gonna do it again for Daddy?” As if on cue the infant Valens kicked with in her mother. Lilly smiled as she kissed the top of his head, this had not felt real to either of them until that very moment, Sure they saw the ultra sounds, heard the heart beat, but this was different, It was as if their baby knew exactly who they were and just how much they loved each other. Her hand moved to her stomach and counted to ten as she breathed then closed her eyes, slowly getting up to get dressed.   Scotty Valen’s new there was something wrong with her, He read her like a book, She was so closed off for everyone else but not for him “Lil?” He asked as he reached for her hand “Why do you keep doing this? You should have been on Maternity leave months ago” He offered,  She shook her head as she spoke to him “People aren’t going to stop needing justice just because you got me  pregnant Scotty” She said teasing a little, sometimes she had to pinch her self to see if it was all real, did Scotty pick her over everybody else? He kissed her hand then reached up to kiss her lips “Do you blame me for worrying about you two?” He asked, She let go of his hand and stood up, He snickered a little “Don’t use up all the hot water” he said watching her go in to the bathroom.   Another hour or two later she was at the Precinct, LT Stillman looked at the two, any other boss would have separated the two of them, forced the mother to be on some sort of Maternity leave but Lillian Valens (nee Rush) was like a daughter to him , she knew how stubborn she was. .   “What..What’s the Job” Lilly stammered as she sat at her desk, they were getting closer now, this wasn’t labor was it? It couldn’t be, her last doctor’s appoint said she had another week or two, she breathed as she looked at her boss “Missing 26 year old Man from 1999, Last seen walking his dog with his girlfriend, I’m sending Vera and Jeffries to speak to the nieghbors, You two will track down the ex, currently a waitress at Fishtown restaurant and bar.” Scotty had been oblivious to what was going on with his wife , perhaps he should have seen her face crunch down in a contorted frown. “Any suspect on our Doer?” He asked his boss , Stillman looked at him as he spoke “Just one, someone he used to work with prior to his death but he had an alibi” he informed them.   Stillman handed them the address of the Ex girlfriend “Coming Lil?” Scotty asked as he reached for her hand, Her eyes rolled as she felt yet another contraction.. Still trying to hide what she was feeling “Yeah … Just ..give me a sec..” She said, She hoped to God he wasn’t watching her when she reached for the back of her chair, Scotty may have been oblivious but Lt Stillman sure wasn’t “Lil, how long have you been in labor” his words had given Scotty quite the shock but when he said the words it all made sense “Lil?” He asked her, seeing how her face squished up in pain. She shook her head as she looked at the two men in her life; The man who was like a father to her and the love of her life “Since… Since last night.. I.. I didn’t think it… I.. I didn’t want to scare you” Scotty grabbed her hand as he spoke “Didn’t want to scare me??!! Lil we need to get you to the hospital” he said firmly, She squeezed his hand as she felt the wetness , she knew.. “We.. We don’t have time… She.. She’s coming” She said tears running from her eyes.   Stillman shook his head “I’ll call an ambulance, take her in to my office” he said, clearly this case  would need to wait. Scotty lead her in to Stillman’s office laying her down on the floor, but not before shutting the door, “This one’s been trouble since the moment we found out about her” he teased a little . She bit her lower lip as she giggled a little “Don’t make me laugh Scotty” Tears fell as she felt the need to push “Made you forget about the pain didn’t it” he took off his jacket, he was going to use it to wrap their baby up in, he saw all the blood oozing out of Lilly but he had assumed that it was normal, she was having his baby “okay Lil, this is it I see her head, Push”   She did what she was told, She came out so quickly, maybe a little too quickly, the whole office could hear the tiny cry, he just knew it, but he didn’t care “She’s beautiful Lil, She looks like you” he said , it was right then and there he noticed her pale skin and her eyes closing “Lil!! Please.. no don’t do this to me, please..” He barely noticed how bloody his hands where or the fact that the EMT’s had shown up, they shoved him away as they worked on her, another EMT taking his baby girl from his hands, He was in a daze he could barely notice when Stillman wrapped an arm around her “let’s get you cleaned up” He said. All Scotty could say was “there…. There was so much blood boss” John Stillman shook his head as he helped him wash the blood from his hands, then helped him get a new shirt “It’s okay Scotty” Tears had fallen from his eyes “I can’t lose her.. If she … if she goes I’ll jump in to the river” Stillman knew he meant it, he could see it in his eyes, that had been why he made a little prayer.   It hadn’t been long when he reached the hospital waiting room, though it felt like an eternity to him, he paced in front of the the room, his heart rushing and the tears falling until a doctor came out to speak to him “There was a lot of blood…” She began, her words made him fear the worst that had been until he heard the rest of her word’s “but she’ll be okay, we were able to stop the bleeding, but we need her to rest” He nodded as he spoke  , breathing a sigh of relief “Can I? Can I go in and see her?” He asked The doctor nodded as she spoke to him, it was very clear he cared about his wife and the newborn baby, “of course” she said.   He walked in to the room, he could hear the  beeping sound  of the life support, somehow it was a comfort to him, It was her voice that made him realise everything was going to be okay “Scotty..” She asked her hand feeling for his, He sat down next to her “I’m right here, I ain’t going anywhere” he said. She knew she probably worried him, she could tell by the look on his face, It made her feel bad, but she also wanted to know about their baby, did she lose it, did it even matter. “Is.. Is.. is she okay?” She asked him, He nodded as he gently fingered her hand “She’s perfect Lil, She looks so much like you” He said repeating his earlier words, “I.. I want to see her” she said. He shook his head “tomorrow, okay, they said you need your rest” He kissed her messy forehead.   The Morning had come quit quickly, Lilly had been doing a cross word puzzle on her phone, Scotty laying asleep on the little chair next to her bed, he never left her side, The nurse smiled when she spoke “Someone is ready to see you now” she said as she handed the little blonde bundle to her mother “Hi baby girl” She said looking down at her, Scotty was right she did look like her, and a little bit like her sister Christina. She wrapped her hands around her little fingers and whispered “Daddy’s asleep, should we wake him up?” She asked, Little Ash ley Valens cooed which had given Lilly her answer, though in truth Scotty had woken up on his own, She grinned looking at him “Well hello there Daddy” Scotty Valen’s had a rough night but when he heard the little coo he had woken up, she already had him wrapped around his little finger “Hi,” He said as he kissed his partner and then his baby “Lil” He began as flashes of the night before and how the thought of losing her terrified him. She looked back at him ,kissing her baby girl’s fingers, “Yeah?” She asked him, “Don’t ever scare me like that again” He said firmly but sweetly., then reached over to kiss her again . It had not been to long after that the others had come to see the little Valen’s family. *****************************************   First Thursday by Melissa   Disclaimer: I in no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case, this is all just for shippy purposes.     Everyone in the office had already left for the evening, that had been all but the two of them, They were doing their best to be discreet about their relationship but it had been getting a bit more difficult to do all things considering, not only had Lilly just entered her 6th week of pregnancy but she wore his engagement ring on a chain around her neck, fiddling with it quite often she was more then certain everyone had seen it.   After releasing the last bit of her Philly Cheese steak from her stomach, she walked over to the sink trying her best to compose herself, Her pale skin even more pale now, She stared at herself in the mirror as her hand reached the tiny growing bump of her belly “You’re going to be the death of me little one” She said as she continued to stare at herself, Having his baby was never in the card’s but she wasn’t complaining in the least, after all Baby Rush/Valens was what had made them both realise what they had been feeling for so long.   “Meet you at First Thursday?” Nick Vera had asked Scotty before he had left. Scotty nodded “Yeah I’ll be there” He mentioned as he watched him walk away, That had been more then 15 minutes ago, He stared at his watch, then back at the door worriedly, a part of him wanted to go check on her, make sure she was okay, Their boss had mentioned that first time pregnancy’s were never easy but was this even normal? She was sick quite often, not to mention the mood swings, he’d even seen her lash out at potential suspects, it was a wonder to him how no one other then their boss knew she was even pregnant. He turned on his heel heading back in to the office when he saw her come out of the building and over to her, no one had been around so he reached for his hand “Lil? You know we don’t have to go, we can go home, cuddle.. besides you don’t look so hot right now” He offered, causing her to glare at him “Gee Thanks Scotty” She let go of his hand and headed towards his car.   She didn’t mean to lash out on him, she knew it was the baby hormones but that didn’t make it any easier, She was staring at the window a slow tear falling from her eyes, he put his hand on her chin, turning her to face him “..Look babe..” He began, he saved this terms of endearment for when they hadn’t been working “I didn’t mean… God you have to know how beautiful you are… I just meant, I’d understand if you just wanted to stay in” She crossed her arms and reached for his hand that had been resting on the stick shift of his car “Let’s just go” She offered, she knew if they didn’t show up people would start suspecting something, and she wasn’t ready to own up to what she’d done quite yet.   “It’s about time you two showed up” Vera mentioned noticing how they both entered the bar together, he however hadn’t thought anything of it, after all hadn’t they always car pooled with one another in terms of the rest of the team? “Shut up Vera” Lilly said as she went to sit down, she was in no mood to put up with his smart ass lip, the minute she sat down her unborn child had decided it was time for her mother to lose her lunch for the umpteenth time that night “…I..I don’t feel well” She offered as she got up. Scotty looked at her all be it worriedly “Lil?” He said feeling for her hand underneath the table. She shook her blond locks as she spoke “It’s fine.. just.. can you get me a coffee?” She asked him as she headed for the bathroom stalls   “What’s up with her?” Vera questioned as he looked at Scotty who shrugged “She just hasn’t been feeling well” He stated, this caused Vera to stare over at the bathroom’s and say “well clearly.. I just meant well is she okay?”  Scotty shook his head “She’s just sick is all” He said Jeffries shook his head , he saw the worriedly look on his friend’s face, he may not have known that his two friends had been a couple but he always knew Valen’s had a thing for her, maybe even from the moment they met “I’m sure it’s nothing, there is a flu going around” Scotty shook his head “it’s not that kind of sickness” he offered, he had breathed a sigh of relief when she came back, the look on their bosses face somehow gave them both the courage to do what they both needed to do, She reached for his hand, squeezing it in her own little way indicating that it was time to tell their friends. “Here’s the thing…” Scotty began smiling at Lilly and then her still small stomach “Lil and I… we’re going to have a baby” He said, he couldn’t wipe the happy grin off his face.   Vera had spit out the water he had been drinking as soon as the word’s were said “What??!! How long have you two been… Since when…??” Suddenly it all made sense to him, her emotions being all out of whack, the constant trips to the bathroom, even the ring she now wore around her neck, he couldn’t believe he didn’t see it sooner. Lilly smiled, sure she was tired, they had just come off a long shift and her unborn baby had not been kind that day, but she was happy for the first time in a long time “We..’ve been together for awhile.. Since he and I went to Jersey to rescue Chris, maybe even before that” She said , there had been so much sexual tension between the two for so long, no one was all that surprised over the news. She then added “I’m 6 weeks”   Jeffries smiled he truly had been happy for the two of them “I suppose Congrats are in order then, first few rounds are on me..” He said then looked at Lil shaking his head “Except for you, I can order  a sparkling for you” He stated, she shook her head “no the water is fine” She said. He nodded and smiled at them again “Does anyone else know?” He questioned. Scotty turned to Stillman “I mean we kind of had to tell the Bossman” he said teasingly, Stillman shook his head “though the boss man already knew” he teased right back, he had known for quite some time, but that had simply been due to the fact that he had known Lilly Rush for quite some time.   Vera smirked a little as he looked at Lilly and then the ring she wore around her neck “I guess we just discovered who Lil’s mystery man is now, though I gotta admit I never pinned it for you man, still congrats” he said patting Scotty’s back. Lilly had felt a bit of relief knowing her friend’s had known in this precise moment in time and was even more eager to spend their special evening with them. Had been a place they all frequented often, but things were different now, they were more then just work partners, they were life partners as well. Scotty couldn’t help but grin at her, He would do whatever it took to protect his perfect little family, and the fact that Ashley looked so much like  her mother just made his life all worthwhile, he truly believed in Fate, Karma and all of that, Maybe his ex Elisa had to die so he could be happy now, so he could realise his heart belonged to the beautiful blonde that now sat next to him, it was a long road to get there but She and their daughter was his whole world, he didn’t even care that Ashley’s day care had been closed and they had to take her to the office with them, he knew she would probably grow up doing exactly what they did. He watched as Lilly downed the last of her coffee, she frowned a little “That is not nearly enough for the rest of our day, I need another coffee, Do you want me to get you one?” She asked him. He shook his head “nah, I’m good Lil” He said kissing her softly before she walked up to the counter. “Lilly?” She heard the old blast from her past, she groaned a little , the way he left her heart but he was right, she did need to be alone for the time being  back then and she needed to realise who really held her heart. She turned around to face him , he shook his head “Wow, You look good, How are you? How is Ray?” He hadn’t heard from her since they broke up, so he assumed she followed her ex to California. She gave him the cold shoulder as she said “Joseph..” She shook her head as she spoke “So you chose to be alone?” He asked somehow he doubted that but he had no clue who would want to be with such a “mess” of a girl. She shook her head and glared “No, I found someone who loves Me! Is willing to be there for me when I need him to be.. which was more to be said for you Or Ray!” She spat out at him, the truth had been she didn’t have to look that far either. Scotty had seen Joseph talking to his wife, that word still brought a smile to his face Lilly was *his* wife, he was the one who ended up with the woman who was so closed off for everyone else but him, he was in tune with her, he could see when she was upset. He felt the baby in his arms start to stir , he kissed her little head and smiled “how about It Ash? Should we go rescue mommy?” The tiny little coo gave him the answer he needed. He walked over to Lilly and wrapped his free arm around her , their infant daughter in his other arm. “This guy bothering you Lil” he asked her. Lilly smirked a little as she looked at him, he always was her savior, maybe that was why she fell for him in the first place “No, it’s okay babe” She said, she looked at Scotty and said “You remember Joseph right?” She said glaring at her ex. Nothing was said for quite some time, until Joseph realised what she meant by finding someone who truly loved her “You two.. She had been grinning as they entered their home, for the longest time it was just *her* home, her and her cats, but after coming back from Jersey, he had all but practically moved in and now she was carrying his child. She grabbed his hand and lead him in, they were barely in the house as she started to unbutton his shirt . He smiled back at her, not that he wasn’t grateful, he loved this girl more then. he valued his own life, something that had been apparent from all the times he saved her life, but this wasn’t like her. “Lil?” He looked at her questioningly “What are you doing” Lilly kissed his soft lips, “I want you” She said breathlessly. She shoved him on her bed, her naked body laying on top of him “Damn Lil” He said still grinning, he hadn’t seen this side of her, usually when they made love it was soft, gentle, but this rough side of her, it was new and he wasn’t complaining. Her hair had covered him like a curtain but that hadn’t been what made him kiss her, No it had been her still small stomach now on top of him and the notion that the last time they made love like this they had created a life. She had been staring at him as he drove her car across Jersey state lines, God even the way his hands touched the steering wheel had been so sexy to her, and the smell of his cologne had been apparent from her perch in the back.   The ride was quiet short of her sister’s Baby Ellie making cooing sounds. It was still shocking to her, Christina had a kid, making her an Aunt, She was never good with kids but this one, she was certain she would spoil. Somewhere between crossing state lines and staring at Scotty she had fallen asleep, until she heard him speak “Lil” He said softly, she didn’t know he had feelings for her too, maybe if she had she would say something. “You’re home” He offered, He opened the car door for she and Christina, then went to the other side to retrieve the baby. It was enough to make Lilly’s heart race faster. “Such a gentlemen” she said turning a bit red at her own words but it was that Damn smile that made her aforementioned heart near jump out of her chest.   He couldn’t help but smile at her, to on looker they may have looked like a married couple with their baby and sister, that thought made him want to reach over to Lilly and Kiss her, but she didn’t love him like that, did she? He pushed the thoughts from his head and helped her in to the home, he watched as she set Ellie and Christina in to her spear room, when she came back upstairs he turned for the door “So you okay here Lil.. I should go” She shook her head at first she was sitting down, but then somehow she got her courage, She wasn’t about to let this man go, She would be damned to not admit all the feelings she felt, not this time “no.. Scotty I.. don’t go” She said staring at him.  He shook his head “Lil, it’s late, we have work in the morning, you should get some rest too” She took his hand as she stared at him “I don’t want you to go, Please stay” She pleaded , He interrupted her as he said “Lil don’t.. “ He had no idea she loved him not yet anyway. She shook her head “No, Just hear me out please, I want you to stay.. I.. I think I’m falling for you” Her words gave him a shock but it was the fact that she reached over to kiss him that made him realise she meant it, He kissed her back, but this was different then all the other women, it was soft gentle, he truly loved her “God Lil , you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to say that, Do you know how beautiful you are, I love you” He said kissing her back.   Somewhere between that conversation and the morning, the two had made love, Lilly hadn’t really thought of the consequences that may become of having unprotected sex with her partner all she knew was for the first time in years she was happy. She Rolled over , her happy mood shattered when he was no longer by her side, he had turned out to be just like every other guy, leaving her all alone. Upon composing herself, wiping her tears she got dress and ready for her day, not only would she need to work that day but she also needed to figure out what to do with Christina.   She made her way in to the Kitchen, the frown she had prior turned back in to a smile, Scotty had been standing there wearing nothing but his shirt making her breakfast. “Scotty” she said all be it shocked. He turned around and looked at her “Morning Lil, I made you breakfast, you hungry?” He asked her. The shock of him still being there still very apparent “You.. You Stayed” Lilly stammered. He reached for her, wrapping his arms around her waist “Of course I stayed Lil, I told you last night I love you, I meant it, I’m not the other guys , I’m here to stay” He offered kissing her softly but deeply, She kissed him back but had gotten interrupted with her sister’s word’s “What the Hell??!!” She said, she had no idea how she ended up at her sisters house but she could tell her sister and Scotty had a thing and to the drug addict that notion infuriated her “You. Can’t have me so you F*** my sister!!”   Her words had clearly upset Lilly and he could tell “Lil, she didn’t mean it, She’s Detoxing, You know she’ll say a lot of things she doesn’t mean” He said kissing her again, he then turned to Chris as he spoke “as for you, that’s not what this is, I love your sister, maybe I always have” Christina frowned “So what I was just a constellation prize, someone you screwed around with when My Sister the Ice Queen here wouldn’t show your true emotions!” Lilly had been crying, it wasn’t so much what Christina had said but it was how she said it and knowing it was the drugs talking. Scotty did not like seeing Lilly that way so he held her close and moved her blonde hair away from her eyes, then turned to Christina again “You should go!” Christina frowned “you kicking me out of my sister’s house that’s real rich Valens! But my pleasure!” She said slamming the door behind her, she didn’t know where she was going to go but she needed out of there.   Scotty held Lilly’s hand, she had been shaking but he didn’t blame her “She’ll be back” He began , Lilly tried to crack a joke and a smile “I know.. I mean clearly, she left her kid here” She said. He looked back at her “it’s more then that Lil, She needs you, She needs help” she frowned as she curled in to his chest “I know , I just don’t know what to do, She can’t De toe here, she Needs Rehab but I can’t just.. God she has a kid” She frowned, He kissed the top of her head as he said “We’ll figure something out Lil” he offered, He wasn’t sure what he got himself in to but He loved Lillian Rush and her crazy messed up world   Part Two It had been several weeks since Lilly and Scotty had come back from Jersey, It had taken quite a few nights of angry discussions but they all knew it was best for Christina, She needed to get clean, she couldn’t be a drug addict and a mother, Lilly and Chris both knew that, It was at this moment in time Lilly had been in the rehabilitation center. Chris looked at Lilly with sad eyes, sitting on her new bed “You.. You. Know he was right , I didn’t mean it, I knew.. even back then, when I was dating him, He only wanted you, All the times we were together he only talked about you.. and one time.. One time He said your name during the act, I just let it off to him working with you all the time but now I know, he loved you.. It was always you.” Lilly frowned as she sat down next to Christina, She wasn’t sure what the hell was wrong with her, she was so sad, emotional, She wanted to say it was because she was dealing with a drug addled sister but the fact of the matter was she didn’t think that was the case. “Chris..” She said wiping her own tears “Stop..You don’t have to do this” Christina looked back at her “I want to.. I want to say sorry, can.. Can you promise me something?” Lilly nodded as she wiped her tears “I ..I know we agreed foster care is what’s best for her right now and I need to get clean to get her back but.. can you.. Can you at least check in on her every once in awhile” Lilly nodded as she looked at her and squeezed her hand “I’ll do my best” she said. Christina looked over at the picture of their mother as she spoke “I don’t hate her anymore, you know, She wasn’t the best mom but she was a mess, just like me.. and at the end of the day she was our mom, I know she’s gone now but ..” She said with a shrug “You can’t forgive yourself if you can’t forgive her, and I promise you’ll be a better mom then me” Her word’s gave Lilly a shock, sure Christina had Ellie, she probably knew all about pregnancy but was that really what she herself had been feeling, “What?? I’m not.. I’m not pregnant” She stammered. Christina shook her head “Don’t kid yourself Lil, It’s kind of obvious, and.. he has the right to know” She offered, it was odd Sure She was younger then Lilly and more or less the screwed up one, but in this instant she was acting older.   “Please Lil Promise me you’ll tell him, don’t run away from this, don’t be stupid like I was” She said as she watched her older sister walk away. Lilly walked away from the De tox center tears in her eyes, how could she not see this before, all the signs had been there for weeks now, She was pregnant.   “How is Lil doing?” Scotty heard Stillman question him, Sure he was their boss but he could tell it was more then that, he was worried “I think she’s just stressed out right now, dealing with Christina and all that” he offered, No one knew they were in a relationship so he felt it odd that their boss would even ask him about her, he shrugged his words off as he said “I’m sure she’ll come back to work in no time at all”   He had continued on with their case , reading the young woman’s diary had been a huge aspect “The Mom just assumed Beth ran away but I think the diary proves otherwise” He heard Vera say, he opened the first page he had gone in detail of how the young victim discovered her pregnancy how if the baby’s father didn’t want it she would kill herself, it had made the Cold Case team discover this was no murder but a Suicide, however it had made Scotty Valens discover something else entirely, he grabbed his coat and headed for the door “Where you going?” Vera asked him, he shook his head “there’s something I gotta do, Can you cover for me, I shouldn’t be gone long” he offered.   Lilly was still sitting on her couch her hands shaking, God how could she let this happen she was so careful, She was not cut out to be a mom, She heard the front door and wiped her tears away as she looked at him, The pregnancy test still in her hand “I….I’m Pregnant” she blurted out as she looked in to his eyes, she expected him to be angry and walk out on her like every other man had in her past but that’s not what she saw. He moved her hair away from her eyes as he gave her a soft forehead kiss “I know” he said, she was a little surprised that he knew but then again they were detectives it had been what they did for a living. “I.. I don’t know what to do Scotty, I’m not cut out for this” she said with a sigh.   He knew what he was getting in to when they began to date, hell maybe even before that but he would be damned if she gave up their baby “Don’t say that Lil, You are.. You took care of your sister practically her whole life.” She scoffed a bit as she looked at him “and look at how she turned out” He shook his head as he said “You have to know that wasn’t your fault” He kissed her softly as he said “besides Lil you’re not alone.. we’ve got this.. I Promise” He said holding her hand “I’ll be by your side every step of the way, You asked me to stay. I ain’t going anywhere” He said kissing her once again.   The Last 7 years Disclaimer: As always I in know way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or its characters, this is just me fixing a few wrongs LOL and well my shippy heart also May mentioned The Series Finale.     Scotty Valens turned around briefly to watch Lilly with her sister and niece, He felt his heart racing as he stared at her, God he was so in love with her, She was more then just his work partner, His Best friend She was the woman he fell in love with, He knew it would be a long drive Home but if it meant staying in a car with her he didn’t really mind.   He watched her fall asleep in the back seat,  her niece stirring in her arms, In hindsight as a cop he figured they should have picked up a Car Seat somewhere along the way but he wasn’t about to stop the car now, He didn’t want to wake them. His mind was racing as he tried to figure out what to do with Chris and her baby, She figured Lilly would want her to stay at her place , it was just who she was as a person, But Chris was a mess who needed some kind of help, She needed Re hab, however if that was the case then who was going to take care of Ellie? Could they do it? As friends probably not, as lovers well maybe, He knew she loved him as much as he loved her, it was just a matter of getting to her to admit it.   A slow smiled played at his lips as he pulled up to the first hotel they would stay at, He knew exactly what he needed to do. After getting a joint room and making sure Chris and Ellie were okay, Scotty grinned at Lilly causing the blonde woman to blush a little “What’s with the look Scotty?” She asked him, feeling her own heart race. He inched closer as his hand moved for her hair, moving her locks away from her eyes, His eyes locked hers and then he made his moves, He kissed her causing her to blush once again, then back away “Scotty.. What.. What are you doing?” She stammered.   He gazed at her lovingly as he said “What I should have done 7 years ago when I met you, I love you Lil, I know you feel it” He began. She tried to control the beating of her heart as she said “No… Stop.. I can’t.. I don’t..” He shook his head “I know it’s there..” He continued “Is that why you dated my sister?” She asked motioning to the sleeping sister in the next room. Scotty shook his head as he reached for her hand “I only dated Chris because I thought I couldn’t have you at the time, but After I almost lost  you the second time.. I Just stopped giving a sh*t, I  Know you feel it Lil, It’s why you asked me to help you with her” He said whispering, he didn’t want to wake Chris or her sleeping baby. Lilly shook her head as she answered him “No, I asked you to help be because you’re my best friend” She was trying her best to ignore what she was feeling, to deny it, Men had hurt her in the past, but she made it through, If he hurt her, she wasn’t sure what she would do. He was right he knew her better then anyone else had. “Lilly, Come on you can’t deny what you and I have here” He said as he held her hand gently “it’s why I’m the one you call whenever you need help” He continued. The way he was looking at her made her heart race, he was right she couldn’t do it any more “Fine!! I love you!! Is that what you needed to hear Scotty? I love you, I’ve always loved you, from the day I met you, Maybe I should have said something 7 years ago but I was scared.. I don’t want to lose you..” She said , He grinned giving her a satisfied look as he kissed her on the lips, At first it was rough and passionate  but then he began to kiss her softly, It wouldn’t be easy working together and dating one another but somehow knowing she loved him back, knowing they loved one another, somehow that was enough.   “You think That its’ funny when I’m Mad” Disclaimer: Still don’t own the rights to the Cold Case or it’s characters Nor do I own the rights to the song “Stay Stay Stay by Taylor Swift” which this drabble is very loosely based on.   Lilly frowned a little as she slowly got up at out of bed, The events of the night before still playing in her mind, If it were anyone else they would have left her, but not him, He was the one man that had always been there, still she worried he wouldn’t be there in the morning,  Pregnant or not she knew what she did, how she reacted was wrong. She smiled a little when she saw him laying in bed next to her.   She slowly made her way in to her kitchen, pouring herself a cup of coffee. She took a sip of her coffee and smiled a little when he wrapped his arms around her “Morning beautiful” He said kissing her neck. She turned around to face him, Damn those Puppy Dog eyes and making her heart race “You.. You’re not mad at me? At what I said?” She asked him, Her fears were valid, every other man in her life had shoved her aside when things got to rough, She should have known he wouldn’t though , he was different, He truly loved her. He touched her lightly and kissed her forehead as he said “Of course not Lil, I know that’s not you talking, That’s the Baby Hormones” He said winking as his hand reached for the  growing bump of her waist, rubbing it back and forth as he spoke, smiling at her “besides, It’s kind of cute when you get mad” He said teasingly, It was true, she had this adorable little facial expression on her face when she was angry, He had seen it countless times when she interviewed a suspect, He didn’t really mind it much when it was directed at him.   He grinned once again when he noticed her wearing his shirt, It looked much better on her, especially  now that she was starting to show a little more “now, are you going to give me back my shirt so I can get ready for work?” She shook her head back at him “Nope,” she said with a soft chuckle, Somehow the night before had been forgotten and she was happy, Scotty had a way of control her Baby hormones in any way he needed “Our Baby wants me to wear it” She said teasing him. He shook his head and rubbed her bump once again “Oh she does, does she? Well then I guess she’ll have to tell LT Stillman why Mommy and Daddy were late” He said his brown eyes twinkling at her, Her blue eyes twinkled right back as she said “It’s not like you don’t have another shirt, besides this one smells like your cologne and You know how much I love that smell” She said, reaching up to kiss him.   “Lil” He began after he had kissed her back “In all seriousness, I know how scared you are about all this, how you’re afraid you’ll end up like your Mom, But I promise you We got this, I Love you” He offered, his sweet words made her eyes well up in tears, He knew exactly what to say to make her feel better “I love you too” She said kissing him back, then winking in a playful manner said “Now, get dressed before we really are late for work and Stillman fires us both” She knew in that moment that she fell in love with her very best friend.   What the world doesn’t know Disclaimer: As always I in no way shape or form own the rights to Cold Case or it’s characters, if I did I would be a very rich woman and most certainly would not be in child care       Scotty Valens had been pounding the pavement so to speak, prior to that moment, Sure their co workers had known that he and Lilly were an item, that they were expecting a child, But the rest of the world did not, They were doing their bests to keep things on the down low, at least for now, though with the cute tiny baby bump she had going on he wasn’t sure how long that would last. “Where’s Lil?” He asked his boss, he knew LT Stillman was doing his best to accommodate the two of them, sometimes that just didn’t work out in the way he wanted . Lt Stillman looked at Scotty, He could see the worried look on Scotty’s face, he knew it was more or less due to her mood swings, God only knew what Lilly Rush would do to a suspect on her own, but he also knew this was all so new for both of his employee’s , He envied the two of them, both still young , in love and starting their own little family “Talking with our possible Doer, .. Mitzi came in on her own, but you may want to go in there before things get ugly” Stillman mentioned as he looked at the other man.   Scotty walked in smiling at his beautiful Baby Momma, She was only 9 weeks but she was already glowing and oh so beautiful. She smiled back at him as she looked back at the other woman “…look I get it, being so in love you would do anything for your lover, even if it meant murdering someone else.. You did it to protect him right?” Lilly asked.   The woman shook her head, She would enjoy playing mind games with these people, this had nothing to do with “Love” as she called it, There was so many more victims.. In a word Mitzi Johannason was a serial and she wasn’t even using her real name,  A smirk played up on her face as she said “What’s it like.. working with the man you love? The father of your unborn baby?” She asked raising an eyebrow   Mitzi’s word’s had given Lilly quite the shock, had the world known about her and Scotty? “Oh I wasn’t talking about…we’re just work partners..  He’s not…” Her hand reached for her tiny bump that was really only apparent when she was nude or touched it. She bit her lip wondering how the hell this woman even knew she was pregnant let alone she was in a relationship with her partner.   The other woman chuckled as she looked at Lilly again “Sure, .. And that’s why he’s sending me daggers with his eyes, giving me that look of “if I try anything or hurt you in anyway he’ll murder me” She said simply, she was quite satisfied then for added benefit said “I won’t give you anything because you two… You have nothing on me”   Lilly sighed, Their Doer was right, They really didn’t have anything on her, but she knew it was her,.. it would only be a matter of time “You’re free to go” Lilly said with a sigh, once the woman was long gone she sat down staring at Scotty confusion on her face “is she right Scotty? Are we really that obvious? Does the world know about us?” He kissed her lightly and said “Does it really matter, I love you and our baby, I want the world to know” he offered as he kissed her once again, squeezing her hand gently as he had done so.   Please come back Disclaimer: Just putting this out there once again, Still don’t own the rights to the show or its characters, I’m just a lowly Scotty and Lilly shipper who loves writing. Authors note: Yes I’m well aware Lilly and Scotty didn’t hook up after “Stalker” (Season 4 episode 24) but let’s pretend they did okay.   It had been a long night for the 16th Precinct, Lilly Rush being shot had thrown them all for a loop, To most she was like a sister (or in LT Stillman’s case a daughter) but to Scotty she was so much more then that, She was the woman he loved, and he would be damned if he lost another woman to death.   After the surgery and retrieving the bullet the doctors and nurses had been in and out of her room, They weren’t sure why the patient didn't  wake up, She had so much going for her, a team that loved her, a good job, but there was some reason she had remained in her coma. The rest of the team had left for that night, short for Scotty Valens  he frowned hiding the tears as he stood there scratching his head “Why won’t she woke up?” He asked the main surgeon, he tried to keep his emotions in check but he was finding it very difficult. The Doctor looked at the young man, she assumed he was her loved one, after all he was the only one that had cared enough to stick around. “I usually find there’s a reason, some times they just want to let go….” He sighed as he looked at doctor again he didn’t want her to ‘just let go’ he needed her “… her mom just died” he sighed, he felt a tear fall down his eyes, he wasn’t even hiding it any more, losing Elisa had been hard enough, losing her… God could he even go on. The doctor put her hand on the man gently as she said “talk to her, tell her how much you care about her, I find that usually helps” She offered. Scotty walked in to Lilly’s room, reaching for her hand, he moved her hair away from her eyes, he felt the tears fall some more “Lil…” he began “You gotta wake up, Please…”He begged, he squeezed her hand as if the action would somehow make her come back to him “.. I know you want to be with your mom, I know you think there’s no-one here that loves you anyway….” He sighed wiping a tear “…but you have to fight it…. There are people who love you.. I love you Lil… and I know.. I know I’ve never said it but you had to know… Please you have to come back” He begged again. He barely noticed when Stillman walked in the room, he didn’t even realise he was still there or that he had heard him profess his love to Lilly’s near lifeless body, that was until he felt Stillman’s hand on his shoulder “It’s been a long night Scotty, go home, get some rest” He offered, he wasn’t trying to be a “boss” right now but a friend. Scotty shook his head, wiping the tears that continued to fall “No.. I can’t … I won’t leave her”He said. Stillman shook his head again “at least get something to eat” Scotty shook his head in defiance “I’m not hungry” Stillman shook his head , he should have known how much Scotty loved her, but maybe it wasn’t that obvious until now “at least get yourself a coffee, it’s on me” He said handing him some money on the vending machine. Scotty frowned as he took the cash, he did realise he would have to work the next morning and that would be difficult to do with no sleep so he welcomed the advice,  he simply said“come get me if she wakes up” Not that he truly believed she would but he had hoped that she would. It had not been 5 minutes after Scotty left and Lilly’s eye’s flutter, at first she felt for his hand, She was harbouring feelings for him for so long, it was surprising to her to learn he felt the same way, At first she assumed that it was a dream she was having, God telling her she shouldn’t let go, but when she felt his hand she realised it wasn't a dream, it was real, the man she loved, the man she trusted with her life had loved her back, She frowned when she realised he wasn’t there “Scotty..” Her voice came back in a rasp. Of course, the moment he sent Scotty out to the vending machines she would wake up “He stepped out for a minute, I’ll go get him, Just stay with us okay..” Stillman stated as he raced over to the nearby coffee machines.
