Born Jolene Camilla Smith, she lived in a middle class home in a middle class suburb with Angelique E. Smith, and Don T. Smith. Her life was pretty average, typically uneventful. She was an only child, and sometimes her parents weren't around as much as she liked. But it gave her more time to develop herself and her interests.

Jolene was inclined to the piano. At the beginnings of her teenhood, Don paid for lessons. This was where she met Tannon - the son of her piano instructor. Their families grew close, Tannon and Jolene spending time together in and out of mutual classes. They grew together too, eventually stemming into a relationship and a journey through a year of Julliard and marriage, before things went haywire.

She didn't know the types of things the Sparrow family were involved with. Nor how Tannon would disappear completely and the Sparrow's would blame her, cursing her. A cloud of misfortune streaks wherever she goes, and when she cries her tears are blood.
