I'm not a stranger to the dark. Hide away, they say 'cause we don't want your broken parts. I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars. Run away, they say, no one will love you as you are.

Into the Unknown ( drabble )

Arthur stood upon the rocky shore of the dark sea, between the Enchanted Forest and Ahtohallan, her hypnotic song beckoning him yet again to her side. Airy majestic and growing in strength as each step brought him closer and closer to his destiny. "Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah." Echoed the magical vabrato, a  harmonic symphony, against the snowy mountain sides behind him. His loose honey blonde locks blown subtly by Gale, the wind spirit, who's airy and playful nature always gave him a profound feeling of pure uninterrupted calm. "Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah." She spoke, hushed tones made increasingly louder by the winds carrying them. "I can hear you; but, I won't. Some look for trouble, while others don't. See everyone I've ever loved, are here within these walls. I'm sorry secret siren; but, I'm blocking out your call. I've had my adventures, I don't need something new. I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you-" he sang back silently into the void, unaware of the vivid mossy hues observing him through narrow holes in the sublime tree line. Legs buckling amidst the profound pressures inflicted by the angelic voice that tormented his entire life. "She will sing to those who'll hear and in her song all magic flows; but, can you face what you most fear? Can you face what the river knows." Spoke the raspy, hollow, tone of the troll king, he'd been watching the inexperienced young man since he'd entered their world - an infant King without a throne. His pudgy stone structure and un-kept mane unmistakable against the vibrant light, refracted off the icy shore.

At first, the young ruler was startled by the presence of Grand Pabbie, something that undoubtedly appeared in his bewildered tone. "I thought-" he began, his subtle utterance cut short by the elder troll. "You are never alone my King." Of course this testimony only furthered Arthur's hesitation. "The spirits of this earthly world have been with you, your entire life," he reiterated. "They're part of you Arthur Westergaard." He continued. "Part of the greatest monarchy to ever exist in all the realms." Grand Pabbie proclaimed, his firm stone hand reassuring the still doubtful monarch. "It's time Arthur, step into the unknown." Uttered the Troll king. "Discover the truth and open the gates to Narnia once more." Declared the elder, making the already hesitant royal even more so as he referenced a land existing only in Arendellian folk lore. "Narnia. Narnia's just a legend Grand Pabbie. It doesn't exist." Arthur responded. "Some say the same thing about me." Grand Pabbie spoke once again. "But, it exists just as Nokk and Bruni exist. Just as Gale and the Rock Giants. Just as the sword you wield exist... lost in time... waiting for you... its rightful heir to rise."

"Heir?" He chocked, his mind unable to grasp the mind-boggling revelation presented to him. "The prince once taken in the night. Gates of wonder locked up tight. Mournful parents tried-and-true. Royal blood that flows in you." The troll king uttered, the once dull engraving on the steel beginning to shine in hues of golden light. "It couldn't be." Arthur stuttered softly, his gaze centered on the massive glacier before them, his anxious fingertips tap dancing across the smooth hilt of the sword. A puzzling expression pulling, quick, to his lips. His tone even more aloof as he spoke briefly under his breath. A clouded mind made clear as the sea which thrashed upon the rocky beach simultaneously summoned the marvelous water spirit, Nokk, from his watery dwelling. As if nature itself new what was in the young princes heart before even he knew it. The fear of what might be unearth causing great hesitation in him as the alluring voice rang out once again and he realized life as he knew it would never be the same after this.
