"Guyver, out!" Letter to myself.

There comes a time where unfortunately reality must set in. Figuratively, there is an hourglass for damn near everything. For some people, they know this and push on as if they aren’t bothered by it. The writer of this isn’t exactly all there, only for some stuff. The writer behind this account originally started out on myspace in the Power Rangers verse and often thinks about how things used to be, even though he was just a recently turned teenager in those days. Now writing this as a grown man. No, this isn’t a retirement letter...or, not entirely. But a drabble for a ‘writer’ who is breaking the fourth wall to speak to his half-creation, the character being original but what he becomes is already something that exists in the figurative world of fiction.

Taking a deep breath before pressing the quotations to speak (type) to his character who in a way is a symbol of his past self, “Jayden Thomas Ryder, some time in 2005 which is the year before I started role-playing, I seen a movie on HBO with my brother called Guyver: Dark Hero. Having gotten back into Power Rangers towards the end of 2003, watching Dino Thunder in 2004 and SPD in the same year I first seen The Guyver movie, I started role-playing on a site called MySpace on the month of June 23rd, 2006. I only remember that because I remember viewing the blog and memorizing the date back when you could do that on the site before it turned into a musical wreck.”

“The Guyver movie reminded me a lot of Power Rangers, it was even critiqued as a Rated R Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. And because of that, shortly after I first started, I began having thoughts of playing The Guyver, but never really knowing how to do it. I started off not knowing how to type like this, I was a one-liner, and not known for writing descriptively. I put it on a character I played as a favor for a friend, but with no backstory and it just felt empty. Until I finally learned how to write, thanks to people who inspired me to want to do better and took me under their wing and in less than a year, I started writing multiple paragraphs in 2007.”

“As my writing evolved, my creative bug grew as well. Trying to create original characters for an altered or ‘new’ Power Ranger team, though those didn’t really go anywhere...until one day something sparked in the year of 2008, I came up with a character with a story about how he became The Guyver. And that was you, Jayden Thomas Ryder. It was you who stood out from all my other creations because I really made it a point to make sure you were something. Though I had a story planned with a group of people with you that never happened, still you grew beyond that. I didn’t create you just for a storyline, you were my first original character that stood on his own and didn’t need to rely on a team to stand. You were a lone wolf….”

A smirk forms on the writer, “A lone wolf until one day, someone that I’ve been very close with to this very day, that I call my big sister...actually went and made her character your sister. For a short moment it was weird, you were supposed to be this lone wolf that was on this unknown journey...but then what was weird became something awesome. It gave you a place to show a more goofier side. It made room to throw my own personality into you, giving Jayden a goofier side whenever he was with his only remaining family member.”

“Because of who your first face was, I tried to keep you separate from my home verse, which was Power Rangers. It didn’t really work, because of the actor and the similarities between the two franchises. So I changed the face to make the crossovers happen. It would not be the only time I would end up changing your face, but that doesn’t matter.” Takes a breath.

“Unfortunately, though very slow, this started the bumps in the path I tried to set for you. I got you involved in stories that my friends were trying to create, and it sadly didn’t see the light of day. Those stories were supposed to be how Jayden would end up gettting accepted as a Ranger-like ally amongst Power Rangers. But then one day, a major light came when your sister decided to accept an offer in the form of a team called Power Rangers Star Force, which had promise at first but then came with bumps...which then turned into Power Rangers Star Warriors...which carried a bunch of promise...and seen daylight! And the crazy part of it all? You were going to end up being the leader of a team of Power Rangers even though you weren’t exactly a Ranger yourself. And though not with everyone, it would mean something I really wanted you to be, accepted in the role-play world of Power Rangers. But unfortunate events had happened again...and it had to end.”

“This was the first time I didn’t really know what to do with you, and even though while I had you, I always had other accounts of already existing canon characters, mostly from Power Rangers...and I was always confident that those accounts would mostly remain in just the Power Rangers universe. I wanted you to be the one that ventured outside...but then that didn’t happen...what ended up happening was what I wanted for you had went over to my now main canon Ranger account. But I got offered one hell of an opportunity on that character and I took it. I started neglecting you, my longest lasting creation.”

The writer pauses, though he remains typing this part but he has to collect his thoughts that is to be said within the quotations, “Some people will read this and probably call me crazy. But this means a lot to me...you still mean a lot to me even though I have no real desire to keep you going at this point, I don’t like going backwards too much and trying to find a new place to fit you in at after everything you’ve had that faded away. Your sister’s writer decided to have her killed off and then you were back at stage one, back to where we were back in 2008 but still tried to continue your story by you going back to being a drifter. Doesn’t seem right to me...”

“Now we’re in the middle of the year of 2020...and I first created you back in 2008, that’s twelve years ago...you represent the time of when I was only two years in. Heck, you pretty much represent whole MySpace past now that I think of it. But I sadly don’t have the desire to keep you going, I’m not going to delete this page myself...one day a miracle might happen and my desire to have you be apart of something might return. Never say never, but if that day doesn’t come, then so will the day of when this page will get purged.”

Jayden Thomas Ryder, created in 2008, officially retired in 2020. Twelve years out of the fourteen years the writer has been doing this.

Notes:

Though I do not know what the future holds, whenever my mind will change, this is my goodbye to my longest lasting character period.
This character is also the very first page I have made on this site back in 2011, which was 9 years ago.
This is an RL inspired drabble that obviously serves as a letter to myself, like the subject title says.

Speaking Truth.

I deleted my rules blog for a reason and I'm going to explain why. I know no one pays attention to what I do but if someone is lucky and finds this, thank you.

Now, in some shape or form everyone breaks their own rules by this I am referring to the "NO DRAMA" rule. I now view that rule to be utter crap because most of the people who post it either starts the drama themselves or they always stumble upon it. Moving on to quote something I said on another page of mine.

"Those of you who do not know this about me, I started role-playing on myspace on June 23rd, 2006. Now that it's 2012, it's been near 6 years I've been doing this. Ironically, the first thing I did was Power Rangers as well. No, I am no stranger to the Power Rangers verse. I recently deleted another Power Ranger profile on this site, ending my time as another Ranger that I've played since 2007 on myspace.

Anyway, there was a time where writing a rules blog actually meant something. Oh yes, it did. But over time, things became...bullshit. Having a rules blog up is one of them, sort of. Not completely, if you feel that it's needed, go ahead, post one. But one always include the following "NO DRAMA!" or anything in between those lines. Now, I know that not everyone does that. But think long and hard about it. Ever notice the people who keeps saying that stuff are ALWAYS in a shit load of drama themselves?

I have found my ways around drama. We all know it's not always avoidable. But the people who mainly said NO DRAMA! gave that a bad meaning. Now, for rules blogs. I do not mind the "no god modding" thing. That's needed to be said. As well as other things. But the no drama thing has been shit on so many times, and guess what? YOU'RE HEARING THIS FROM A GUY WHO ROLE-PLAYS A POWER RANGER! But Power Rangers is not the only thing that I RP. Just started out in it and can't resist returning to it after I take a break from it. I have a lot of love for the show and this verse. But I can tell you, next time you see "NO DRAMA!" in a blog, it depends on how well you know that person. Other wise, ignore it. It has no meaning anymore."

Alright, now that you read that, it's all the truth. That saved me some time so now I'm moving on to my next point and that is too have fun with everything you do. Don't be such a, no offense, hard-ass twenty-four/seven with comments like "I'm an RP'er, keep it that way. I don't care about your personal life. I don't care much for OOC." That means that every RP you do, no offense, will be boring as fuck. So if you're one of those types of people reading this, lighten up and have fun. Speak OOC, you don't have to get to know so much about everyone's personal life yet. But introduce yourself, be open as a friend. Because with more communication, the more fun your RP is going to be. "If an RP gets boring, I will just ignore it." If you do that, that means because of your non-OOC ways, you are not contributing anything to it. It has to be all on the person who wants or is RP'ing with you. One track minded I believe it's called, I could be wrong.

Anyway, I met great people during the six years (and more, just six at the moment) I have been role-playing. Due to great communication and making great friends. My RP's have been...PHENOMINAL! <<< Yes, I just said that! lol. I'm a goof, as you can see. I could say more after this but I'm pretty sure you now get the point.
