Confidential Cerberus File (Updated bio)

Name: Dr. Rowe Lawson

Alias: Medical Maiden

Age: 31

Species:  Human (Clone)

Personality:  Inquisitive. Logical.  A leader. As former Queen of Earth's lunar colony (Tranquility City) and Commander of Rowe’s Raiders, Dr. Lawson does not hesitate to put her people and her crew before herself.  Sweet and innocent to her friends and family, it is often a mask to hide her true self. She can turn deadly and lethal to anyone who would mean to do harm to her friends and loved ones.  Whilst this goes against the oath of ‘do no harm’ as a medical practitioner, it is as her mentor Dr. Mordin Solus once said; ‘Many ways to help people. Sometimes heal sick patients. Sometimes eliminate dangerous people. Either way helps.’

Powers:

Tech abilities:

While Dr. Rowe Lawson possesses no natural powers of her own, she has an array of technological devices in her arsenal to heal her allies, and decimate her enemies.  Her intellect and proficient tactical mind are also valuable assets.

-Omni tool (can perform a variety of functionings including cyro beam, healing beam, electrical overload bursts, flamethrower, tactical cloak, neural shock)

G.H.O.S.T. Drones:

Dr. Rowe Lawson is never without her trusty A.I. companion, G.H.O.S.T.  Via a neural connection, Rowe is capable of commanding her A.I.’s drones via mental thought.  Note that this does not make Rowe a technopath, per se. While technopaths are typically known for their manipulation of any form of technology, Rowe is strictly limited to controlling the G.H.O.S.T. drones.  On command, they can be used in either attack or defense, from swarming an enemy target and encasing them in a stasis field, to weaving protective energy barriers to shield her allies. The drones can also be prompted to deliver any of Dr. Lawson’s omni-tool tech abilities, albeit to a lesser effect.  This allows Rowe to activate her omni-tool abilities from a safer distance.

It must be noted, that Rowe can only control her G.H.O.S.T. drones for a limited time.  Doing so puts a lot of stress on her mental state, due to their neural link.

Advanced weaponry:

-A collection of firearms and explosives collected throughout her travels in space, including energy weapons such as blasters and phasers, ballistic weapons, heavy weapons and more.

-She can only carry so much at any given time, and must plan her loadout accordingly.

-Her usual weapon of choice tends to be a sidearm, such as a Carnifex hand-cannon, or a blaster pistol (she typically prefers her modified SE-44C blaster).

The Remnant:

Having encountered this synthetic race on the broken planet of H-047c, Rowe soon came to befriend them and gain their trust.  She is known to be possibly the only organic being to safely interface with the Remnant, save for the Pathfinders. Luckily, with G.H.O.S.T.’s help, she was able to awaken a legion of Remnant laying dormant beneath the surface of the dying world.  In return for freeing them, the Remnant sword allegiance to the then Queen of Tranquility City. They are sworn to her to this day, and will come to her aid when called upon.

-Using her omni-tool, Rowe can summon a Remnant VI Observer to aid her in battle. (click for image)

Power Armors:

Rowe has a collection of power armors that she can employ, depending on the situation. Her standard battle-medic power armor, with its added size and bulk, trades speed for protection (think medic power armor from StarCraft ^.^ click here for picture!).  Her Valkyrie armor, as the name implies, possess flight capabilities with the use of repulsor-tech wings, courtesy of her boss Mr. Stark, who designed the suit specifically for her. (think Mercy from Overwatch.  Click here for picture.)

Short Bio:

(rp history/summary of various headcanons)

Being from another universe, Dr. Rowe Lawson has since desired to use her knowledge and technology for the benefit of Earth 616.  Since meeting Mr. Stark and becoming employed by Stark Industries, Dr. Lawson has applied her skills as a geneticist and space explorer, even heading up the project to re-establish Earth’s lunar colony on the moon, Tranquility City.  Commanding Rowe’s Raiders, her own personal crew of rebels and mercenaries, they fight to protect Earth and the moon. The recent destruction of Tranquility City has temporarily displaced Rowe and her Raiders. Whilst the colony rebuilds, Rowe is once again looking to the stars, with the feeling that it is where she has always belonged.  Her recent exploits have pulled her down a path of becoming an informant for the Shadow Broker. Rowe’s motives remain unclear, though some suspect that the destruction of Tranquility City has put her down a path where she will not hesitate to resort to any means necessary to protect her home and those she cares about.

Wheel of Rebirth (additional headcanons)

Whilst most know how Rowe was physically born (genetic cloning at the hands of Dr. Henry Lawson), the creation of her soul is shrouded in mystery.  Rowe's soul was in fact weaved by the Fates, from the essence of Light itself.  This could possibly explain Rowe's kind-heartedness and warmth, as well as her passion for helping others. Though mortal as any other, upon dying her soul is returned to the Fates, and after a time her soul is spun back into the realm of the living.  Though she has no memories of her past lives, previous reincarnations of herself (under different names) possess a few shared commonalities.   Her love of coffee, for example, has remained quite consistent throughout each previous life.  In addition, Her past lives have all followed professions that involve helping people, such a doctor, nurse or scientist.

Mass Effect Origins (bio)

Name of Character: Dr. Rowe Lawson (Code/Nickname: The Medical Maiden)

Bio: Rowe Lawson is the 3rd successfully bio-engineered creation of scientist Dr. Henry Lawson. Like her sister's Miranda and Orianna, Rowe was created by Lawson for the purpose of preserving his scientific legacy in bio-genetics. However, Rowe was kept secret from her other sisters, having been created in a Cerberus Research Facility on the planet-ERROR, ENCRYTPED DATA. AUTHORIZATION FAILED.

With his resources and influence, Henry had put a lot of effort into keeping Rowe's existence wiped from all records. Perhaps he feared that by not doing so, his plans of making Rowe his successor would have been foiled by Miranda in retaliation. Whilst Miranda was designed to be the perfect weapon, Rowe was designed to possess the perfect mind for the sciences. Two contrasting sides with a shared commonality, unbeknownst to one another.

Time passed, and as Rowe grew into adolescence, she too came to the same realization like her predecessors before her; that she was a tool in the eyes of Dr. Lawson, and nothing more.  Her purpose in life was predetermined by her so-called 'father', who wanted nothing more than to have her preserve his scientific legacy. Wanting to free herself from his bonds and experience a life of her own, Rowe fled from home as a stowaway on a transport bound for the asteroid space-station of Omega. It was there where she was soon discovered by a certain Salarian scientist by the name of Dr. Mordin Solus. Recognizing the girl's talent for scientific ingenuity, the good doctor took Rowe under his wing, working alongside the brilliant doctor as his assistant.

With the help of Mordin's guidance and wisdom, Ms. Lawson applied to a STG-funded medical program on Sur'kesh, She soon became the first human to pass Salarian intellectual standards, gaining entry to the program. Once earning her doctorate in bio-genetics, Rowe returned to the clinic on Omega, only to find her beloved mentor gone and an audio datapad explaining his absence. Something to do with an important mission of sorts, with a human Spectre by the name of Commander Shepard. The last words she heard from him, asking her to look after the clinic in his absence, explaining that he entrusted no one else to this vital task.

'Has to be you.' Mordin had said to her before he left.  'Someone else might get it wrong.'

Presently:

Continuing her mentor's work in helping the poor and needy, Dr. Rowe Lawson now operates the sole medical clinic in the slums of Omega. Treating its patients; victims of poverty and gang violence, Rowe continues to do the very best with what limited resources she has, with a glimmer of hope in making Omega a better place for all. Perhaps then she will have made her mentor proud, whilst eagerly awaiting his safe return.

Additional info (skills/abilities)

Section 1: Character Profile

Name: Dr. Rowe Lawson

Are you a superhero? If so, codename:

Not a superhero per-say, but is codenamed 'Medical Maiden'.  It was a nickname originally given to her by her wife, the Valkyrie Kirika.

Powers, skills, abilities:

High level of intellect, despite her shortcomings in causing the occasional accidental explosions that result from her scientific experiments. Genetically engineered by her father to possess the perfect scientific mind for medicine and genetics, Rowe possesses superior logic and deduction skills. Analyzing DNA samples and identifying genetic weaknesses would be one of the ways she could offer support to her superhero allies. Possesses her PhD in medical genetics with a minor in bio-chemistry.

Genetically altered immune system: Being the product of her 'father' and creator, Dr. Henry Lawson (Mass Effect's very own Norman Osbourn equivalent), Rowe's DNA make-up is a medical marvel. Her immune system operates on an adaptive basis, constantly evolving itself when coming into contact with any form of bacteria. The result is a quick recovery from any form of illness her body experiences for the first time, followed be complete long term immunity to that disease for the rest of her life. However, it should be noted that any excessive dosage of a high level toxin, in all probability, would be too much for her enhanced immune system to handle, and could either prove harmful or fatal. (more detailed explanation on how this works upon request).

Theatricality: Rowe's passion for the performing arts has led her to assuming different identities for the enjoyment of her acting hobby, and thus makes herself a great asset when required to do undercover work. (more on this later as well =3)

Medical support equipment (can downgrade her gadgets if need be, because they originate from universes like Mass Effect and Starcraft that possess highly advanced tech compared to the Marvel universe)

Omni-tool: Small implanted device in the arm which conjures a holo-gauntlet projection over the lower arm. This all-in-one device has all sorts of uses, though Rowe uses it primarily for performing diagnostic scans and applying medi-gels for immediate first aid response.

Medi-gels: A highly advanced all-purpose medicinal salve, the medigel is a combination of an anaesthetic and clotting agent. Primary used on open wounds to seal and isolate, preventing blood loss and infection. Enables rapid cell regeneration to quicken the healing process.

Stim packs: As the name suggests, this is a stimulant drug typically inserted via syringe. Used to boost adrenal flow in the body, enhancing speed and reflexes for a short duration.

Laser-suture: This wrist mounted surgical precision laser produces a focused beam of heat. Upon contact with organic tissue, the green projectile of energy instantly cauterizes and closes wounds. Essentially used to perform auto-surgery in the field, in the absence of a triage centre.

Tech with potential offensive/utility potential (non-lethal)

Neural Shock: Programmed through the omni-tool, this tech-based ability can be used from a distance, though increased effectivness comes from close range physical contact. An electrical current surges through the target, targeting the individual's brain activity to temporarily sever the connection between the brain and body via the spinal cortex. Causes instant paralysis for a short duration.

Sabotage: An electro-magnetic pulse, the sabotage ability is primarily effective for taking out an enemy's defenses (shields, biotic barriers, etc.). In the appearance of a blue eletrical explosion, it affects all targets within its radius. Being that it is an EMP, it is equally as effective in short-circuiting technology in the the area for a period of time.

Tactical Cloak: Activated via the omni-tool, it instantly renders the user invisible for a short duration. (However, with trained vision one might be able to identify the camoflauged outline of a moving cloaked individual). Health and shield regeneration is halted while the cloak remains active.

Roleplay-canon history/events timeline

Roleplay-canon Timeline of Events

Note to reader: This is a history timeline of group SL pariticipation and other significant events for my character Rowe Lawson, and the events that helped shape her into who she is today, and how she has gotten to this point. Note that this list does not include every single SL and event that has occured within Rowe's roleplay-canon. Some of the events may not be in exact chronological order, either. After nearly 3 years of writing this character, I did my best to condense everything and include the most significant character events. My intention is to provide fellow writers with a better understanding of Rowe's character development, especially for those new to my list ♥. Despite having originally intended to be a Mass Effect OC, I have branched out with Rowe into all sorts of crossovers, while primarily keeping to the themes of science-fiction and maintaining her role as a doctor/scientist of genetics. You will find that many of the RP events listed below are of comic verse (primarily Marvel), but contain some crossovers with the likes of Star Wars, Mass Effect. StarCraft, and more. Enjoy!

Space Explorers

This is where some of Rowe's very first adventures began! As a scientist and crewmembers of the Valkyrie under command of the Dark Jedi Commander Tara, Rowe assisted the crew in aiding and abeting an intergalactic wanted fugitive by the name of Lady Blue. Together, they adventured across the galaxy, visiting many planets along the way. From the shoddy streets of Zuss to the hotsprings of Tenrei, to the barren Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth! Rowe's space exploring led her to many exciting adventures such as The Confrontation of Galactus, Iron Planet and more!

(Space Explorers is an ongoing SL and is open to all! https://www.roleplayer.me/view_group.php?group_id=4310)

Rowe's Arrival on Earth (various events consisting of Earth 616 and MCU crossovers)

Eventually, the space-faring scientist found her way to the planet Earth. As a human visitor, Dr. Lawson had little difficulty in blending in with the rest of society, although she had to be careful not to expose her advanced technology to the world. For a while, she established her own private practice as a medical geneticist, before being discovered by billionaire, genius, playboy philanthropist, Mr. Tony Stark. Knowing that she could make more of a difference working for a company vs. working independently, Dr. Lawson applied for a genetics researcher position at Resilient, and was offered a job thereafter.

The Doctor and the Valkyrie

A day to be remembered was her fateful encounter with a woman of Asgard, a Valkyrie of Valhalla, the warrior and blacksmith, Kirika Shadowsmith. They met. They fell in love. They married. A mortal and a demi-goddess. The rest, as they say, is history.

Temporary Status as an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

For a time, Dr. Lawson found herself working for Earth's Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. As a geneticist, she provided assistance to the agency with her area of expertise in alien DNA research. Occasionally, she provided medical support for her fellow agents out in the field, applying her scientific knowledge and proving herself a capable medic.

Attack on United Nations

Dr. Lawson was present at the time of the assault on the United Nations building in New York City by the Brotherhood of Mutants, led by Magneto himself. Dr. Lawson was to present her research on a cure for Extremis addiction, an addictive physical-improvement drug made available by Tony Stark. Research showed that the long-term negative side-effects that Extremis had upon those possessing the x-gene were very serious, and in some cases, fatal. Rowe's intention of providing a cure for its addiction was to regain trust between Mutants and health-care practitioners around the world. Magneto's attack was a major setback to her efforts, and she was captured by the Brotherhood. Eventually, Rowe was located and freed by her longtime Mutant friend, Kendra Smith.

Lunar Adventures

Perhaps one of Dr. Lawson's most well-known accomplishments as Chief of Resilient's Science and Space Exploration Division was her proposal for the re-colonization of Tranquility Gulch, a former research city on The Moon that had been left abandoned after the events of Fatal Frontier. With its vast resources, Resilient revitalized the lunar city, turning it into a major hub for space exploration, and introducing space tourism to all Earth-bound citizens. Dr. Lawson then became the city's Magistra, taking responsibility of its wealth and trade. Unfortunately, the newly established lunar-city became a prime target for a devastating villain attack, nearly wiping out the city and all its inhabitants. With the aid of several brave heroes, the city was saved, but left abandoned and in ruins.

Science vs. Magic

With events leading up to this, Rowe had grown increasingly concerned over the mental status of her boss and friend, Tony Stark. Throughout the course of a year, she witnessed Tony's gradual fall from grace. Affected by the events of Axis, Tony Stark had become Superior Iron Man, a far more greedy, cunning and egotistical version of his usual self. Tony's actions of 'heroic interventions' started raising a few eyebrows among his friends, allies and the public eye. It wasn't until Tony declared his 'war against magic', influencing world leaders to shun and discriminate against all magic users, that Rowe finally concluded that her employer had turned truly evil, and needed to be stopped. Standing defiantly against her former boss on the side of Magic, Rowe formally left Resilient and participated in a quest to find the truth. With her array of tech and combat-medic experience, she fought on the front-lines in the final battle between Science and Magic, and lived to tell the tale.

After SvM: The forming of Rowe's Raiders

Witnessing the chaos caused by the war that her former boss started, Rowe vowed to ensure that a conflict such as the one between Science and Magic would never happen again. She left Earth and her career in Resilient behind to form a team of her own. A special task force team designed for the purpose of maintaining peace on a galactic scale, and fighting for the freedom of all sentient species; Rowe's Raiders. With a Behemoth-Class Battlecruiser called the Hyperion, the Rowe and her newly recruited team have gradually made a name for themselves, traversing the ocean of stars and fighting against oppression throughout the galaxy.

Asgard vs. Star Wars

After receiving reports that the Empire had located there whereabouts of the Realm Eternal and were en route with an invasion force, Rowe did not hesitate. Rallying together the full force of the Raiders with three fully armed and operational Battlecruisers, the newly-minted Commander rushed to the aid of the Asgardians. Being that Asgard the realm her wife and family call home, Commander Lawson will stop at nothing to ensure its protection.
