A  Daughter's  Love
"My mother did what she did. And I forgive her. Isn't that what you heroes preach? Forgiveness?"Alone in her family crypt, Regina stood in one of the many rooms, this one now intended for her mother, Cora. Now both her parents were gone and Regina had never felt so alone in the world. Henry wasn't here to stand beside Regina while she said her final goodbye to her mother. Tearfully she placed a rose upon the coffin. Oh, how she wanted to fling open the box and crawl inside and lay with her mother. She knew that was such a crazy thought but the realization that she was now gone forever was beginning to sink in. And no matter anyone's age they'd always want for their mother.

So focused on her grief Regina hadn't heard the soft footsteps approaching but when she heard that voice her eyes lifted and looked toward the doorway. There stood the person who had done this, one of them. Yes, Regina could not harm Rumpelstiltskin but Snow White was another matter entirely.

"How dare you.." Regina nearly growled. "I am trying to lay my mother to rest." Snow stood in the doorway though she looked confused for a moment. ".. Why do you grieve for her? She.. was so awful to you. She killed Daniel.. she made you marry-" Regina cut Snow off instantly. "Yes! My mother was terrible! Not the sweet, fairytale mother you had! I am aware." Regina said bitterly looking back to the coffin, placing her hand on it.

"But she was mine. She was my mother. And.. she wasn't always that way. I do have good memories of her. Mostly when I was small." She said looking back to Snow White. "My mother did what she did. And I forgive her. Isn't that what you heroes preach? Forgiveness?" Regina asked.

"So you can forgive that monster? But not me?" Snow asked though backed up as Regina moved closer as though she might do something. Glaring at her for a few moments Regina only shook her head, more tears streaming down her face. She couldn't do this, not now, not yet. "Get. Out." She said waving her hand, using her magic to send Snow White away, back to her loft. Heaving a heavy sigh Regina moved back to the coffin before breaking down into sobs, placing her arms and head against the wooden box.

"So you can forgive that monster? But not me?"
