Captain Of The Guards Eloise Gothel was the Queen's leading lady in waiting. She was always at the Queen's side normally. However, a few days ago she had left at the request of the King and when she returned she had done so bruised and battered, falling to her knees just as she reached the castle gates. She was tearful, in pain, and claiming a hoard of men had harmed her though she refused to say how. Though the bruises on her body gave a clue that they had been very brutal with her.
The Captain of the guards had always taken a liking to Eloise Gothel. After all, she was a beautiful young woman. Seeing her return home in such a state angered him. For this was a woman he had come to care for from afar, never outwardly expressing his growing feelings for her. So now to see her so badly taken advantage of hurt him deeply.
It had been he who scooped up Eloise and carried her into the castle to be seen by the doctors. Who had respectively covered her and remained by her side as the doctors examined her and eventually gave her something to sleep. It had been he who had informed the Queen and King of Corona about what had happened. He who was somewhat suspicious as the King didn't seem all too shocked about the attack.
It was also he who now sat by Eloise's bedside waiting for her to wake up. He watched her sleep and couldn't believe how someone could ever raise a hand to her or harm her in such a way. Many didn't care for Eloise due to her magic, due to her being a fairy however, he did not feel that way. He was thankful she was a fairy. Thankful that only hours earlier her mother Queen Clarion had come to heal her daughter of any physical injuries. He would have hated to see her in any more pain.
Taking her hand he brought it to his lips and gently kissed it. "Oh Eloise I'm so sorry." He whispered. He knew when she woke she wouldn't speak of what happened to her out of shame. The doctors had all but confirmed what had happened though again he saw no shame in this. She had survived the vile acts that were done to her. In his eyes that only made her stronger, better than all others.
