Yasumi once a human mortal, the opposite of what she is now, and it all boil down to something tragic that happened in her past that changed her for the worst. She was happily married and was expecting her first child when her husband was brutally murdered by invading Mongols. The men then raped her, resulting in miscarriage.

When she had settled down the Mongols had been defeated by the Ghost, a samurai not following the principles and as long the man behind the mask existed there were peace on the Island of Tsushima.

But then one day the Ghost had seemingly vanished from the world's surface. At first everyone believed that Jin Sakai either had returned to either Iki Island or went to look for Yuna.

As the years passed Yasumi got angrier and she was starting to blame the Ghost for not being there for his people. One evening she woke up with the feeling of something or someone in her bedroom.

It was an onibaba, meaning Demon hag, offered Yasumi to become like her so she could seek vengeance. In the past there had been several other ghosts that not had thwarted her plans to conquer Tsushima.
Agreeing to help the old onibaba granted Yasumi her powers and then the elderly female standing in front of her simply vanished in front of her eyes. Determined to fulfil her promise Yasumi began to train.

When she ready she had learned how to teleport and there was no need her to get around using any physical means of transportation. However the world outside of Japan was vast and in her search she encountered many ethnicities.

As time went by Yasumi had no wish for vengeance and wanted to have a normal life and a hobby to pursue. The idea of finding many friends was also in the back of her mind but doubted it was going to be easy. Especially since she was a supernatural creature in a human body. And she was still scarred by the rape attempt and was unsure that she would be interested in a relationship with anyone.
