Your final warning

*Thin fingers pinched the bridge of the agents nose, her stress clearly indicated by her posture as she leaned against the table. A soft sigh was exhaled as the hand was lowered, and chocolate hues gazed back over the data on the hologram screen in front of her. A short motion of her hand swiped away one of the files, and brought up another. The agent had been trapped in a rabbit hole, trying to find and connect the correct infomation, only to be lead to dead ends. Friday was easily able to break down the info on the hard drives, but the puzzle before her was one they had not been able to solve. At her best guess, they were still missing at least two, maybe three hard drives. Hydra bases were becoming harder to find and a longer span of time grew between each retrieval. Avarens focus was interupted when the AIs voice spoke, and she glanced to the security image that had been pulled up.*

"You have a visitor Agent McCoy. Special Agent Andrews from SHIELD HQ."

*Avaren gazed at the monitor, her brows furrowing a bit in concern. An agent from Shield paying her a personal visit at Stark tower? Being the head of field ops, a shield agent was not the strangest visitor she could have, the problem was they never had sought her out like this. Avaren waved a hand across the screen, dismissing the files and security feed.* "Thank you Friday. Let him in please."*She replied, her mind becoming occupied with the thoughts of what this visit could be about. As the agent arrived up to the lab floor, Avaren greeted him at the door, doning a smile on her face despite the caution she held within her.*

"Agent Andrews, this is quite an unexpected surprise. Is everything alright?" *Avaren inquired, watching the man closely. He returned the smile, but there was something off about it, almost sinister. He motioned into the lab towards the holotable and nodded.*

"Yes quite alright. I have some intel for you that I believe needs to be personally handed over."

*Avaren stepped back allowing him in, followed him towards the table and watched him closely as he transfered data from the tablet in his hand to the screen in front of him. Avarens heart sank as images of her daughter and Bucky, along with the safehouse, popped up on the screen. Avarens gaze narrowed and shifted towards the agent, who seemed far to pleased with himself. Something was wrong, and she had a bad feeling she knew what.*

"This is Level Nine clearance, far above you. How did you get this information, and why do you have it." *Avaren asked, trying to keep her cool as she questioned the man for answers.*

"When you have been with Shield as long as you and I have, you learn a lot about how things work, isn't that right Ms. Karpov."

*Avarens blood ran cold, her heart racing as the name slipped of his tongue like poison. It should not surprise the woman that a Hydra soldier within Shield would eventually confront her. They had learned of her existence nearly four months prior, and tried to ambush her and Steve at their home a month later. While unsuccessful in their attempts, Avaren and Steve did learn that Hydra had managed to create a new super soldier. After shattering her wrist, and nearly capturing her before Steve intervened, Avaren put a bullet in the soldiers head and they managed to escape with the help of Aria and Bucky.*

*Now here she stood, facing another one of their soldiers, and thoughts raced through her mind as she tried to find the upper hand. Killing him would be too risky, as he made it clear he knows the location of the safehouse where Aria and Bucky had been staying. As long as the Hydra chip was in Aria's head, she had to lay low and make sure she wasn't found. There was also the possibility of her identity being released. The only people who knew of Avarens true past were Steve, Aria and Bucky. She had planned to tell Tony, but the timing lately hadn't been right. If she killed Andrews now, there was no telling what triggers it would set off, assuming he had set a trap for her.*

"What do you want..." *The woman asked coldly, not even bothering to deny the name he spoke. It was easy to assume any attempt to signal for distress could also put her daughter in danger, so for now she had to play along. The only comfort she had was Friday, knowing full well the AI was always monitoring everything, and the sharp spike in Avarens vitals would have been all the warning she needed to alert Tony. And it was exactly what Friday did, sending a message directly to Tony's phone whom had been out dealing with some personal business. Security breach, Stark Tower Lab. Agent McCoy in distress. The message was also sent to her husband Steve, who was at Shield HQ turning in a mission report for Avaren.

"It's quiet simple. You are the daughter of James Kaprov. More importantly, the neice of Vasily. We will agree to let you go, live your life free from Hydra, if you give us the trigger words for the Winter Soldier."

*Avarens eyes widened and she took a step back, a soft shake of her head accompanying the angered look in her gaze.* "No. He doesn't belong to you anymore. He never did. You will never get your hands on him, or my daughter. So I suggest you give me one damn good reason why I shouldn't kill you where you stand."

"Because if you do," *Andrews motioned to the images of her daughter and Bucky.* "They die. Surely you would do anything to protect your child... both of them..." *He replied with a calm tone, and motioning to her belly. Avaren stared at images for many moments, feeling sick to her stomach at his final comment. How did he know.... it wasn't possible.. Her pregnancy had been kept off the record for this exact reason. Only Steve, and Tony knew of the impossible child growing inside her. The woman took a deep breathe and turned to face the man, making sure to keep her cool as to not give away any indication he was right about the baby.*

"See... here's the thing. If you truly had men near the safehouse, we would have been alerted. You forget, Tony Stark and I are very close. You think I would simply put them up in a Shield safehouse with no other safeguards or protection? You know me better than that Andrews, and I know you certainly don't have the technology to over power Stark tech." *Avaren replied, abrutly making a move to strike the man across the face before aiming a knee towards his groin. He took the strike to the face, but barely seemed phased before blocking the strike from her knee. He threw his own fist towards her, but with speed he swung and her already weary body from the pregnancy, she couldn't avoid it fully, and was clipped against her jaw. He took the very short distraction as an advantage and grabbed her by the hair with one hand, and around the throat with the other. He was strong, like the soldier at the cabin. Panic set in, and she feared he would end it there, but instead of crushing her throat, he lifted her and smashed her down into the glass table, interrupting the hologram showing the images he had taunted her with.*

*A heavy groan of pain slipped from Avarens lips as her body hit the floor. She could feel slivers of pain all over the left side of her body, the shattered glass cutting into her skin as she lie there. An attempt to move was made, only to fall short as the room grew dark and she lost consciousness. The soldier leaned down, smirking at the woman as she blacked out.* "We will get what we want. We always do. This is your final warning Mrs. Karpov." *He said before standing and leaving the lab, leaving her to her injuries and her need to make a decision.*
