Drunk Wish

Revolutionary

Moonshining was a complicated chemistry. Jackson didn’t do it for the money. His contracting business brought in enough income to support the whole pack, considering it employed about 70% of the pack. In fact, he didn’t sell moonshine at all, thereby making his operation completely legal... in his neck of the woods anyway. He gifted it. It took an exorbitant amount of alcohol to get a supernatural being drunk. The process used to distill his brand of moonshine allowed him to make it at 190 proof, though at that point there was no use in additives for flavor. You might as well be drinking pure ethanol. He used a mixture of corn mash and other grains to distill and he’d gone over the process with Ollie to check the grains for quality before starting a new batch. As always, Jackson would taste it before transferring it to a barrel for bottling later. Something about this batch wasn’t quite right. He tasted it again. And again... trying to put his finger on what was amiss. It wasn’t long before his head was spinning, the effect hitting him faster and more powerful than usual. Yeah, this batch wasn’t good at all...

Jackson hit the ground calling out for Hayley. “Hales!!” There was no way she’d hear him in the cabin. “Sh*t... I wish there were...”
“Jack? You okay?”
His eyes fluttered open to find his wife standing over him, only there were two of her. He was seeing double. “Two of you? Babe... it’s every man’s wish.” He chuckled just before everything went black.

The sun peeked through the plantation shutters, bathing his tanned skin with light. He stirred, feeling Hayley cuddled against him, a smile spreading over his rugged features. Rolling out of bed, he headed to the kitchen to make his wife breakfast in bed only to find her in the kitchen making breakfast. “Hales? I thought I just left you in bed. When did you get up?” She smiled at him, playfully smacking his bare chest. “You left Hayley in bed. I’m Andrea, your other wife.” Jackson opened his mouth to say something, but nothing come out. “What’s wrong Jack? Did we wear you out last night?” Jeeeesus... the hell happened last night and why, of all things, could he not remember that? “Uh... what in the sister wives is going on here?” Hayley joined them in the kitchen, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before making her plate. “Good morning handsome. Are we still going to the Quarter today?” Jack always enjoyed going to the French Quarter, especially during the cooler months. Andrea chimed in, “No can do, he supposed to take me to lunch today.” The two females exchanged heated looks before chaos ensued, screaming, cursing, punches thrown, clothing torn... “Oh sh*t! Ladies! LADIES!” Jackson was pretty sure Hayley’s fist inadvertently connected with his jaw with her notorious right hook as he put himself between the two women. It was the wrong move as they fought him to get to each other.

Ollie came rushing in yelling for him as Jackson ducked and hit the floor, deciding to let the two just duke it out. “Jack!! Jack........”

Jackson’s eyes fluttered open finding both Ollie and Hayley standing over him as he was laying on the ground by the still. His head was pounding, his stomach churning. He looked around in confusion for the other female identical to Hayley. “Where’s Andrea? There were two of you and y’all were fighting...” Both Ollie and Hayley looked at one another before busting out in laughter, Ollie teasing... “Have a little too much moonshine, did ya?” Jackson looked down at the empty cup that was still in his hand. “No! That’s a bad batch! I must’ve been dreaming or hallucinating.” As Ollie helped him up, Jackson leaned in close and whispered. “Don’t ever wish for two wives...”
