Not new to this character, been writing as Ruby on and off since 2016.
Sassy, and cunning, Ruby is attributed with opening the cage by way of manipulating Sam into killing Lilith, but what if she wasn't just manipulating him? What if she truly did remember her humanity? This is exactly what happens here. Meet Crimson N Onyx Ruby:
Ruby is a witch who sold her soul to a demon to be able to perform magick. She has spent centuries in hell and came out of the hell gate.
Since the botched apocalypse, Ruby who was thought dead, has been in hell. She remembers her humanity. For this she has been tortured for 180 hell years (a year and a half earth years), to return her to being a 'good demon' or completely evil with no sliver of humanity at all.
After so many years of torture, she has been able to convince everyone that she has returned to her former state, though she has not. She struggles daily between the humanity, and her tainted demonic soul. She seeks a way to lock the darkness within her away for good, so she can nurture the humanity that was reawakened in her so long ago.
She retains her sassiness and being a smartass. These are just character traits that make her who she is, despite the eternal war being raged within her own meatsuit.
Oh, and, Ruby will not be in a relationship with anyone. She doesnβt have time, or desire for this. Her focus is on locking away her darkness.
