Wasabi is a green dog of unknown origin, coming from a small village that's since been supposedly abandoned, as he left his grandfather to head for the mountains to start his training as a Shinobi. He possessed the power of 'Shintsuriki', a wish-granting power that used alot of energy from the small dog, and made him quite hungry after use, it could theoretically be used to do just about anything, yet, he doesn't seem to know anything about it himself, and can't use it on demand.
In modern times, Wasabi is just a traveler, among a world of humans, he's an outlier, and tends to not stay in one place for too long, as he finds the wider world much more interesting then his home. Even with years pass, he still possesses Shintsuriki, but to a much smaller extent, no longer as powerful as it once was, granting a wish would take him out of commission from a week, rendering him weak, hungry, and tired. Even though the old age of ninjas, and warriors has ended, he still keeps his trusty hammer with him at all times, ready to use it, even if the world he now walks prefers firearms.
