Demetria Devonne Lovato, goes by Demi; was born August 20, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her mother is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Dianna De La Garza, and musician Patrick Martin Lovato; her parents split when she was two though. Her ancestry is various, mostly Mexican, with Spanish and Native American ancestors on her dad's side, with distant Portuguese and Jewish heritage. Her mother's heritage, mainly English and irish ancestry.
Demi has stated that she was suicidal at the age of seven, due to heavy bullying, and requested home schooling, getting her high school diploma through the home school program in 2009. She began to play piano at seven, and guitar at ten; and she then began dancing and acting classes.
