The product of an affair between a feared clan leader in south Romania, Andrei, and a college student with bright ideas and an equally bright future, Christina was raised in a small town in Romania, kept as far away from her biological father as possible, for her safety and in order to not anger her stepmother, Valeria.
Unfortunately, it is never easy to hide any relation to someone, and before Christina was eleven, her mother was tragically butchered by her father's enemies, before her body was burnt beyond recognition. There were qualms in Andrei's home of what to do with this child he knew close to nothing of.
Finally, it was decided she would live with him, until she was recognized by the state as an adult and could financially support herself. This decision angered her stepmother who sought to make Christina's life a living hell. On the other hand, Andrei, though he was never close to her, treated her with neutrality for she resembled her mother greatly and he had an affinity for the deceased woman.
When Christina turned 18, instead of being kicked out as Valeria was awaiting and left to fend for herself, she was instead sent to American and her journey as well as her stay were personally funded by Andrei. His only condition was that she not embarass him in this new country. Now at 20, Christina lives a close to lavish life, but all she wants is a break, a takeaway from this lifestyle, from this life she never asked to be born into.
