Telford was born in 1963 and is originally from Glasgow, Scotland, but grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland and served as a medic with the British Army; his military service, however, lasted only five months, ending in a court martial. His army experience has led to him becoming the club's medic for backdoor emergency surgery. He was married to Fiona Larkin and has a daughter named Kerrianne. However, when he was thrown out of the True IRA, the group's leader, Jimmy O'Phelan, took his family from him. O'Phelan also scarred his face and told him never to return to Ireland, leaving Chibs with a scarred face and a lifelong nickname. He became SAMBEL’s first prospect, who eventually patched over from SAMBEL to SAMCRO becoming the liaison between the two charters. Chibs was an outlier in the club, being Scottish whilst the rest of the club were American. He is also SAMCRO's connection with the True IRA, who sell guns to gangs in the United States. He has been heard speaking Scottish Gaelic. His first kill was for the True IRA killing a police constable in Omagh, Northern Ireland at a very young age. He quotes 'we could have been in the same school together'.
Due to his age and life experience, Chibs is calmer and more level-headed than most other Sons, preferring to use less bloody methods in his approach, though he has no problem using violence when it is needed. He had a good relationship with Jax, calling him "Jackie" or "Jackie Boy" and backing every decision Jax made after he became President. His unshakable loyalty towards Jax is repaid by the young man with the Vice President patch. Chibs is also more tolerant than the other members; accepting Juice and being willing to give him another chance in the club.
"Tig has told me a lot about you as well, so I'm glad that he has you to make him happy, and I've had my share of tending to his wounds and.patching him up whenever he gets hurt as I worked as a medic with the British Army for five months a long time ago." He listened as she chuckled.."It's also a pleasure to meet you."
"Well thank you." Di flashes a small smile in his direction. "He has told me about you helping him and his wounds too." Di continues to speak. "I'm really glad that he has said good things about me to you. He's very sweet." She chuckles lightly. "He makes me extremely happy and I'm glad to met him." She continues on. "I might need your help with moving some stuff though since I probably shouldn't be lifting anything heavy."
"You're welcome, and it's part of me being the club medic besides being the president of the motorcycle club as well as a Teller-Morrow mechanic whenever him along with the others refuse to go to the hospital." He replied before listening to her speak more. "He's lucky to have you even if he tends to get himself in trouble at times, but he's a best friend and like a brother to me, so I don't mind helping with that since it's true that you shouldn't lift anything heavy when you're carrying a child which he mentioned to me as well."
"I sure do appreciate you helping him out, I really do." She continues on. "I'm hoping there are days in which I can help patch him up." Di says as she remembers the early days that she was in the States. "I've had a little bit of practice." She continues on. "Thank you, I really do appreciate it. I just don't want to over due it and having something happening to the baby,besides I'm not sure how mother would feel about this whole thing." Di stops talking. Her mom doesn't normally come to visit so she has to go back to Paradise Island.
"My army experience has led to me becoming the club's medic for backdoor emergency surgery to not just him, but for others as well that would need it which most would consider illegal but like the others who are members of SAMCRO, I'm a outlaw biker anyway so I've been doing the medic stuff for a long time." He listened as she spoke some more. 'You're welcome, I'll help whenever needed since I'm sure Tig wouldn't want anything to happen to the baby either, and as long as you're happy then she'll learn to accept that as a parent."
"I know sweetheart but my mother is the type of person who thinks all men are the same. I tried to convince her other wise." Di states. "I'm sure she will come around though,hopefully. I'd like to at least have one grandparent present." She stops talking. She knew her father wouldn't handle the news rather well at all. "One more thing, would you be willing to marry me and Tig? It's just I don't want have the all that extra stress."
"I'm sure she'll change her mind once she realizes how happy Tig makes you, I'm not sure about your father though." He spoke after being polite by listening to her words. "I would be happy to since I've done so for other club members who chose to get married even if I'm a single father myself after her mother left me for another, while I've been enjoying the single life."
"I'm sorry to hear that and thank you. It's just best if my father isn't in the picture it wouldn't end up good at all and I don't want to put anyone in danger at all." Di stops talking for a moment knowing how her father can be a very dangerous man. "I'm really thankful for you helping and thankful for you doing that for us. We really appreciate it." Di flashes a small smile.
"There's no need to apologize when everything does happen for a reason, I'll just wait until the right one comes around before I settle down again, and that's understandable." He could understand why she didn't want her father around to keep everyone safe. "You're already a member of the SAMCRO family so I'll help any way that I can, including getting Tig and you married." He gave her a kind smile back.
"You are too kind, I really hope you know that." She tells him. Di doesn't like talking about her father and who he is. "Perhaps one day my mother will come see me along with my sister." She continues on. Of course Di misses everyone at Paradise Island. "I'm glad to be a member of SAMCRO." She chuckles lightly. Di hasn't told people her secret about being Wonder Woman,heck some people wouldn't believe it at all. "That's lovely news, he suggested you so I decided to ask."
"That's kind of you to say, I'm simply the calmer and more level-headed member than most other Sons, preferring to use less bloody methods in his approach, though I have no problem using violence when it is needed which is what made me the President for SAMCRO when it came time for Jax to choose who the next one would be when he decided to leave." He politely listened to her. "Life is unpredictable in that way since you never know as she could always show up when you least expect it, and it's the least I can do since you're already part of the SAMCRO family for being Tig's wife soon."
