History

Saylor Jennings grew up in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where music and party life seemed to thrive amongst rich history hidden within the sacred serenity of the bayou. It was a life any normal being could ask to possess, however, home life hadn’t been particularly glorious.
SJ’s father was an alcoholic, abusive by nature, and a failed business owner. Eventually his gambling problem caught up to him and the debt owed became his life. After her father was murdered; the young girl set out to find a place of her own. Tracking down any family that she may or may not have in hopes of finding some sort of balance among the chaos. Given that Saylor’s mother left her at age 13, there wasn’t much information nor clues for her to research lineage and eventually the longing for family decimated.
Life soon seemed to pick up and become happier after the young girl began working at a local jazz bar. There she met her best friend Sarah who stuck by her through everything. Eventually they became roommates and shared a small apartment on the French quarter. However, Sarah had dirty secrets of her own. She worked for a member of the cartel, smuggling drugs in and out of Louisiana. This was something Saylor never wanted to be wrapped up in and Sarah tried to keep her out of it at best. The brunette introduced her to new people, giving Saylor the opportunity to find who she was and explore options among society.
It was then she fell in love with an ex police officer who struggled with the same dark thoughts as she did. They fed off of each others demons and eventually it grew toxic. Wanting to save the relationship, Saylor did everything she could. She tried therapy, she quit her job, and even moved in with Tatum but, love and kindness can only thrive in a home where it’s wanted. This was something she had to learn the hard way.
Eventually, the girl was left by herself and her friend Sarah was so caught up in smuggling by this time, that she hadn’t truly spoken to her in weeks. Upon reaching out, the two managed to finally settle on a coffee date on the roaring madness of bourbon street; a place the two had lived some of their best memories. However, the night would soon turn to terror as a gunman opened fire, leaving Sarah fatally wounded and Saylor unable to help her friend due to the severity of her own wounds. That night, the spunkiness and life seemed to drain from the ocean hues that once held such wilderness.
Saylor now finds herself seeking isolation, hiding behind humor and alcohol as a coping mechanism when faced with the public or using music as a way out of her own mind. She struggles to find purpose and belonging again.

Present Day

Saylor now lives in Hellborne, New Hampshire but sometimes travels back to Louisiana to visit her friends burial site. She now works at a local bar and arcade, just trying to pass the time. Occasionally, you’ll find her taking a stroll in the beauty of National parks or crowd surfing on a karaoke night.

Personality

She is a quiet soul on the outside but has the heart of lion. Her long lost spunk and creativity come out when drinking. She is blunt and to the point with those she doesn’t like but, her love for people tends to outweigh the negatives. She is caring, kind, and extremely smart! She just doesn’t apply herself where she needs to.

Powers and Abilities

Saylor is human for now but could go in any direction with any verse so for now, singing is her super power. She has a voice, she just needs the push to use it.
