About me:

TITLE OF SONG - ARTIST NAME

The WraithCaller

Our gods were monsters, yet our people forsook them for monsters in the guise of gods.
The Wraiths were the life givers of the world. From their Call came chaos and creation. And into madness came being. But to be and to thrive amidst the chaos called for order. Order forged by those who could stand amidst the cry of the world itself and not shudder. It was to this end the Argenta came to be. Resilient to the Call of the Wraiths and tempered by the fires of war they carved order amidst the madness and bent chaos to a knee in the face of progress. Even the raging Wraiths came to acknowledge their might and granted them power. In return their King and his Night Sentinels swore to protect and guard the primal entities of their world as they once again rested. As a result of this promise among the Argenta their came to be a chosen few, the Wraith Callers, those born with the ability to understand the ancient cries of the powerful primal forces. Unlike the other Argenta who could merely withstand the ancient madness of the Wraithcall the Callers could comprehend it as clearly as speech. As such the Callers had access to knowledge beyond any others. And this knowledge they safeguarded with utmost care. Sworn by oath of blood and soul to never reveal the ancient secrets of the Wraiths. In exchange their skills of spell and sword developed far beyond any other Sentinels. However as they rarely left the sides of the Wraiths except in times of extreme warfare their power and techniques remained a matter of much mystery.

When the Makyrs made themselves known to the Argenta the Wraith Callers immediately rejected the presence and beliefs of these otherworldly entities. However the other Argenta did not and soon began to adopt the beliefs and ways of the beings they had come to see as divine. They warned the King that the path upon which the Argenta were embarking would only lead to their destruction, but their warnings went unheeded. As a result the Callers withdrew entirely from Argenta society, refusing to leave the home they had built in the Wraiths' Sanctum. They defended their borders fiercely, forbidding all from entering even the King, Sentinels, but most particularly the Priests of the Order of the Deag. The eldest of the Callers alone would communicate with the King and the Sentinels to relay the wishes of the Wraiths and offer consultation or advice.

In the end, the Wraith Callers were proven right in their predictions as the Makyrs betrayed the Argenta in the pursuit of power. As civil war erupted amongst the Argenta the Callers put their support behind the loyal Night Sentinels. But like them they to fell to betrayal. When the Betrayer granted their enemies entrance into the Wraith Sanctum the Callers rose to defend their Wraiths. Though they fought hard to defend the primal beings against the forces of the Makyrs and the hordes of Hell they were eventually overwhelmed. The Callers were slain and the Wraiths captured, taken to power the Well, tortured eternally as a source of nigh endless Argent Energy.

However unbeknownst to the Makyrs and their hordes one of the Wraith Callers, the eldest of the Order, had survived. Being removed from the Sanctum by the ancient powers of the Wraith whom she had spent lifetimes serving. Badly wounded the Wraith Callers managed to return to the now empty Sanctum. Sealing it against further intrusion with the last of her power she entered the Pool, submerging herself in the accumulated essence of the Wraiths lingering energy. For a long time the Caller slept. Allowing the Wraiths energy to restore and empower her body.

It was said that shortly after the destruction of Earth began an echo of the Wraithcall shuddered through Argent D'Nur. In response both planet and creatures rose into a fury around the Sanctum, cutting it off from entry from all but the most tenacious and determined. However from the wasteland that now surrounded the silent Sanctum a single being emerged. Wrapped in the rage of the Wraiths the Wraith Caller tore open an entrance to Hell and descended into the abyss in search of the Well.
